It’s that time of year again! We’re excited to kick off another year of One Way, a ministry of The Crossroads Community Church for children in 4K–5th grade! ❤️

One Way is all about helping kids grow in their faith, learn the “what” of the Bible, and discover what it means to know and follow Jesus—all while having fun, building friendships, and growing together! 🙏🎉

📅 EVERY WEDNESDAY, starts Wednesday, September 16th

Did you know that children birth through age 5 can receive a FREE book every month through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library?! 🎉📖

The program helps children build a love of reading by putting books directly into their hands—at no cost to families! What a wonderful way to encourage early literacy and create special reading moments together at home. 🥰

☀️🎒 What a way to end Summer Adventure! 🎒☀️

Last week was our FINAL week of Summer Adventure at CKC, and we definitely went out with a BANG! 🎉💦🍦

As we got ready to head back to school, our kiddos packed in ALL the fun! We had a special Kona Ice visit, while our older classrooms enjoyed a movie day, an ice cream party, dress-up days, and a WATER DAY! 🍧🎬🍦👗💦

It was the perfect way to wrap up a summer filled with field trips, adventures, friendships, laughter, and SO many memories! 💙 We are already a little sad to see summer go, but we are so excited for all the learning and fun a new school year will bring. 📚✏️

Our Bible story for the week was Jesus and the Little Children. ✝️❤️ We were reminded that Jesus loves children, welcomes them, and tells us that they are precious to Him. What a perfect message to carry with us as we begin a new school year!

Here's to an AMAZING summer at CKC! ☀️ We can't wait to see what this next season brings! 💛

🍧☀️ What a SWEET way to celebrate the end of summer! ☀️🍧

Yesterday was such a fun afternoon at CKC! Our kiddos had the BEST time picking out their favorite Kona Ice flavors and enjoying their delicious treats outside with their friends. 🌈🍧😋

There were plenty of smiles, colorful tongues, and happy kiddos as we soaked up one more summer afternoon together! 💙

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to visit the Kona Ice truck yesterday! We loved seeing our CKC families, friends, and community members and getting to celebrate the end of summer with you all! 🫶

What a sweet way to wrap up an amazing summer! ☀️🍧💛

🦁🦒🐘 Can you guess what our theme was last week?? 🐘🦒🦁

You guessed it... THE ZOO! 🎉🦓 Our entire center spent the week learning all about the amazing animals we might find at the zoo. We made parrot feather collages, learned about what different animals eat, painted our own zebra stripes, and even built our very own LEGO zoos! 🦜🎨🦓🧱

Our Bible story of the week was Noah's Ark, which was the perfect pairing for an animal-filled week! 🐘🦁🦒 We learned about how God told Noah to bring animals onto the ark and how Noah trusted and obeyed God. We talked about all the different animals Noah may have cared for and how God's creation is full of incredible creatures!

It was a wild week at CKC! 😉 We loved learning, exploring, and making memories together. 💙

Remember last week when our school-agers hosted their very own fresh squeezed lemonade stand? 🍋 Well, they decided to donate their earnings to the Johnson Creek Food Pantry! ❤️

This morning, they were so excited to donate $5️⃣6️⃣ to help support families in our community! 🥰

We are SO proud of these school-agers for choosing to use what they earned to bless others. What a beautiful example of putting faith into action and showing God’s love through kindness and generosity! 🙏❤️

Way to go, school-agers! You are shining examples of what it means to love your neighbors and serve others! 🍋💛🙌

🚌🦁 Yesterday, our Summer Adventure kiddos wrapped up our big summer field trips with a trip to the zoo! 🐘🦒 Despite a few sprinkles along the way, everyone had an AMAZING time exploring all the sights, sounds, animals, and fun the zoo had to offer! 🌦️🐒🦓

And thanks to our incredible CKC PTO, every child on the field trip got to take a ride on the infamous Conservation Carousel! 🎠💙 What a special treat and such a fun way to make the day even more memorable!

A HUGE THANK YOU to our amazing parent chaperones! 🫶 These summer adventures simply would not be possible without your time, support, and willingness to spend the day making memories with our kiddos. We appreciate you more than you know! 🫶

We also want to give a very special shout-out to Go Riteway Transportation and our bus driver, Mr. Bob! 🚌💙 Mr. Bob has become a bit of a community celebrity here at CKC, and it's easy to see why! Our kids AND staff absolutely love him and the way he interacts with our kiddos. Thank you, Mr. Bob, for always making our bus rides safe, fun, and memorable!

We are so thankful for everyone who helped make our 2026 Summer Adventure field trips such a success! What a summer of exploring, learning, laughing, and making memories together! ☀️💛
