Join East Tennessee State University’s Office of Professional Development in honoring the collaborator, imaginer, and teacher of Renaissance Camps and Enrichment Programs, Patricia J. Williams on her 52nd year of teaching. She started teaching in 1973 in Governor Jimmy Carter’s Public Preschool for All in Waycross, Georgia after graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree from Peabody School of Education at Vanderbilt University. After teaching in Georgia’s Okefenokee Swamp area, she received her MA in Deaf Education from the prestigious Clarke School at Smith College. She then took post-graduation courses in Early Childhood at ETSU and received a certificate in that program. She received her license to teach in Early Childhood in Georgia. Later she took courses in History at ETSU to prepare for teaching in Virginia, and received credits in Special Education and Storytelling. She taught in the highly regarded Early Childhood Program and at University School.

After many years of teaching in Deaf Education in Virginia, Patricia came onboard at ETSU’s Office of Professional Development in 2002 to teach and develop programs in science, art, and leadership for children from first grade to sixth grade. These popular camps are once again experiencing growth in programs and enrollment. The next Enrichment program is Fall Enrichment. Her experience, in addition to teaching, involves community work with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. She has served as an officer in all levels of this organization. Patricia lives in Johnson City, TN and enjoys family visits with her brother, Frank B. Williams III; her niece, Molly Luby, her husband Matt and son, Owen; and, with her nephew, Graham Williams, and his daughter, Clementine.

We are hoping that the rain stays away long enough to Launch these cars.
