We are thrilled to be offering a new music theory course this spring!
In our Introduction to Music Theory and Aural Skills course, students will delve into the fundamental elements of music from a theoretical perspective, providing a solid foundation for their musical journey. The curriculum begins with the rudiments of pitch, rhythm, and meter, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive understanding of musical structure. As the course progresses, students will explore how these essential components of music enhance their appreciation and comprehension of various musical genres.
Our fantastic professor of music theory, Dr. Neal Endicott will be leading this 12-session class for the spring semester. The class is best suited for those high school and up (adults are highly encouraged to join!). The class will take place on Saturdays at 10:15am - 11:00am (after Sinfonia rehearsal, which is very convenient for those in orchestra!) Cost is $150 per student for the spring.
