PBTS/Davis Alumni A re-connection "hub" for alumni of Practical Bible Training School, Practical Bible College, and Davis College. Contact: [email protected]

On April 10, 1900 Evangelist John A. Davis was given a dollar bill. That dollar bill would be a confirmation to him to start the first classes of the Practical Bible Training School in the summer of 1900. Since the founding there have been thousands of men and women who have come through our doors for training and have gone out into the world to serve Jesus Christ in various ministries. We welcome back the Alumni of our Alma Mater that sits on the banks of the Susquehanna River. This page is to give also of us a chance to reminiscence about the days we have spent here and see how the hand of God has been working for over a century to shape lives for His glory!

Pastoral Studies with an emphasis on Bible Exposition

I LOVED my years at Practical/Davis College and met my wife there. I have many reasons to thank God for Davis!
I am from Greene, NY. During my time at Davis, I learned how to teach people the Bible in a way that is authentic and engaging and how to lead a church through change. I am currently serving as a teaching pastor at a church that just planted their 5th campus. It has been a dream come true. Davis helped me prepare for this!

Today was graduation for Word of Life Bible Institute and Davis College at Schroon Lake. Dr. Blanc, president of Davis, addressed and challenged the graduates from 1 Corinthians 15:58, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

May you be challenged by the words of the Apostle Paul as the graduates and the audience were today.

Tawny Austin / Class of 2017
TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language)

My TESL degree has opened doors for ministry in ways I never imagined. I’ve taught English on the mission field in Honduras, on short-term mission trips, and in ESL settings across the United States. I’ve also helped launch ESL ministries in Central Florida and currently teach English through our church and the public adult education system.

Beyond my major, the strong foundation in Bible and Theology at Davis continues to shape how I teach, mentor, and communicate, whether I’m leading children’s ministry, walking alongside young adults, or using my voice online for Christ.

Today, my husband Luke (Class of 2016) and I serve part-time with Children's Bible Ministries, coordinating and leading mission trips that connect believers to what God is doing around the world.
