In the most prestigious category, Color Guard, B-6 won first place in the society. This category has the most participants and some schools send multiple teams just to compete in the color guard. As such, we have the nations best color guard. With that, the honor of the society balls color guard was given to us that night.
In the regulation platoon category second place was achieved nationally. This requires 13 personnel to compete in and some schools are not even capable of participating due to the high requirements that it takes to have even one person "Activated".
In the regulation squad category we were also second nationally. This consists of 7 personnel. This category is much more competitive than the platoon as fewer people are required and the more skilled cadets may be hand picked for this.
Also, Cadet Colin Rose was selected as Cadet Jonathan Shackelford's predecessor for Regimental Commander. As such, he will be commanding all schools within Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.
All in all, ETSU did outstanding for its first year ever competing. They dealt with tens of hours a week practicing drill and ceremony, physical training, and maintained a higher academic requirement than the national society requires.
