Today we honor those who gave everything for others. As Christians, we are reminded of the sacrificial love of Christ and called to live lives marked by gratitude, humility, and service.

Meet Abigail (Dalton '08) Teel ✨
Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Abby chose Milligan after years of connection to campus through Christ in Youth (CIY) events, a youth minister who was an alum, and her older sister’s experience as a student. After multiple visits, she knew Milligan’s scenic setting and close-knit community ❤️ made it the right fit.
Abby graduated in December 2008 with a degree in mathematics and secondary education 📚. During her time at Milligan, she was actively involved across campus, serving on the Vespers Committee, Student Government, Campus Activities Board, and the Wonderful Wednesday Committee.
After graduating, Abby began her teaching career at Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee. In 2010, she married Curtis Teel (’09), and together they moved to Maryland, where she continued teaching high school math. Their journey later took them to Ohio, where they spent 10 years helping start a church campus while she served as a high school math academic coach. In 2024, the family relocated to Charles Town, West Virginia, to plant Anthology Church, where she continues teaching high school math.
Throughout her career, Abby has remained dedicated to education ✏️, teaching in four different states while consistently focusing on high school mathematics. She earned her master’s degree in education in 2013, served as an adjunct professor for online education courses, and contributed to Ohio’s state testing writing committee for Algebra 1. Her excellence in the classroom has been recognized with the George B. Chapman, Jr. Math Teacher Award 🏆 in 2023.
Abby and Curtis have been married for 15 years and have four children: Hadley, Kinsley, Berkley, and Dalton. They currently reside in Charles Town.
Reflecting on her time at Milligan, Abby fondly remembers the Humanities Tour and Wonderful Wednesdays as some of her most meaningful experiences.
Her advice to current students and young alumni is simple: “Get involved and make the most of every opportunity.” After graduation, she encourages others to take risks, pursue new opportunities, and trust where the journey leads.
