ETSU was well represented at this week’s Bionic Reconstruction Conference (BReCON) in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Masker from the OTD program, MacKenzie Sanders from OTD Class of 2027, Chad McCracken from the O&P program, and Dr. Marchessault from ETSU Health were all in attendance. Thank you Dr. Leoffler, Dr. Gaston, Diane, and IRCAD for hosting an amazing and inspiring conference. Keep your ears open for some amazing things on the horizon for our amputee and clinician communities, both local and national!

McKinley’s capstone project focused on promoting inclusive and accessible experiences for youth with disabilities through Upper East Tennessee Young Life and their Capernaum program. She developed and led trainings for leaders to increase confidence in supporting individuals with disabilities, created practical and easy-to-use educational resources, collaborated with community organizations to build connections and share support strategies, and visited camps to assess accessibility and provide individualized recommendations to reduce barriers and promote inclusion. She is ready to graduate soon!
