Week 1 of the McNair Scholars Program was a success!
Our newest cohort has been busy learning about the expectations of the program while also building meaningful connections with one another. From mini golf (including Deziree's very first time on the course!) to teamwork challenges like spaghetti tower building, scholars have been developing rapport, collaboration skills, and a strong sense of community.
This week, we also explored our individual strengths and discussed how those strengths contribute to the success of the group as a whole. We kicked off the week with a visit to Bucky's Closet through Career Services, and we have many more exciting experiences planned throughout the summer.
We're looking forward to watching this cohort continue to grow, learn, and thrive together!

Bittersweet news from our team today. Our social media manager, Jerri Young, will be stepping away from posting as he has officially completed the APS requirements and is on track to graduate next fall.
We’re incredibly proud of the work he’s done behind the scenes and the creativity and consistency he’s brought to our online presence. While we’ll miss his voice on our platforms, we’re even more excited to see him take this next step in his journey. We'll miss you, Jerri!
