It’s that time of year again! We hope to have a lot of storybook pumpkins in our storybook pumpkin garden. Check out the picture for details.

Today was Thankful Thursday at JC Elementary. Everyone was supposed to do something kind. Mrs. Tiderencel’s class collected books and donated them to the library for our Share Shelf. Those books put a big smile on Mrs. Stewart’s and Mrs. Grabowski’s faces. We also want to thank the Sacco family and the Jorett family for their book donations.

The book character ornaments started coming in to decorate our storybook character tree. We can’t wait to see what other ornaments come in.

11/23/2021

We have been busy in the library. The fourth and fifth grade students read Balloons Over Broadway and then created parade balloons. The second and third grade students read about the voyage on the Mayflower and then created foil Mayflower boats. They got to test their boats to see if they floated. The kindergarten and first grade students read The Night Before Thanksgiving. They then made fences or enclosures to keep turkeys on a farm.

In preparation for Workd Kindness Day, we read kindness themed books with the K-5 students. Then each student made a Thanksgiving Day card for someone in the nursing home. We delivered the cards to the nursing homes this morning. We hope to bring some joy and a smile to the faces of the residents. Happy World Kindness Day!

Our Storybook Pumpkin Patch was a big hit in the library. We had over 80 pumpkins. Everyone enjoyed seeing all of the pumpkins. The pumpkins will go home on Monday and all of the kids who made a pumpkin will get a book or a surprise.

It is that time of year again! It is time for the Storybook Pumpkin Patch in the Johnson City Elementary Library. The pumpkins have started to come in. We can’t wait to see what other pumpkins will be created this year! Directions for the pumpkins are on the picture of the pumpkin flyer.
