Some baby turkeys joined our flock for the day. Thanks to the Siewicki family for sharing their pets with us!
We’re celebrating Juneteenth today, an important day in our nation’s history! On this day in 1865, our country took its very first step towards racial equality. We’ve taken many steps since then, and have many more to go. Let’s raise our children to be eager for progress and prepared to continue this important work.❤️

It’s Spirit Week at The Island School! Today, we all wore our favorite Fall hats! Don’t forget to wear your favorite color tomorrow! 🎩👒🧢
Thankful Thursday: We are so very thankful for Ms. Heaven! She’s a Twos teacher in the mornings and she takes over for the Fours in the afternoon. For the past few years, she’s happily moved between all of the age groups and has managed to develop such strong bonds with these kiddos. One in particular, who doesn’t attend the Island School anymore, always asks to see her when he comes to pick up his little brother 🥰 Thank you for leaving an impact on these kids, thank you for working long days, and thank you for always smiling through it all! The Island School ❤️s you! 💕
They’re the apples of your eyes. Capture the cuteness! 🍎Picture Make-up Day is next Thursday, November 21st!
Some pictures from yesterday’s Veteran’s Day Camp 🇺🇸 The Island School wants to show our appreciation to all those who have served and continue to serve!
Gillette need not worry about a dip in product purchasing for “No Shave November.” Ms. Emily and Mrs. Tracy’s class had a blast practicing shapes with shaving cream today! We have a feeling they will request this activity again 😉☁️
Thankful Thursday: thank you for all that you do, Mrs. Kat! Katherine is one of our threes teachers who works hard to plan engaging units for her class. She always ensures that no small detail is overlooked! She’s looped with her group for two years and has established such a safe, peaceful, and close-knit community within her classroom. They love Mrs.Kat, and we do, too! 🤗💕
Don’t worry about Humpty Dumpty, guys. Mrs. Heather and Mrs.Liz’s class put him back together again. He’s actually having a great Fall, like we all are here at The Island School 😉🥚🍂
Reminder: we are closed this coming Monday for Veteran’s Day. Have you signed up for the camp that some of our teachers are running on that day? Registration closes this Thursday at noon! 🇺🇸
Our Thankful Thursday post is on a Friday this week (Halloween kept us busy!), but we are thankful for Ms. Stephanie every day! Have you seen her interact with her toddlers? She’s always engaged with what they’re doing in a patient and gentle way. She is the perfect blend of hard working and laid back, and she constantly incorporates music into her curriculum 🎶 How can you not have fun in a class like that?! We love you, Ms. Stephanie! Thank you for all that you do 💕
Happy Halloween from The Island School! 🎃👻
