The contest ends tomorrow, October 2nd, at noon. In these final voting hours, we believe that we can show one final surge of support for school libraries and teacher librarians. If we all collected one final like/comment each, we could soar past 700 and end on an even stronger note.

Vote for Johns Island Elementary librarian, Ms. Church by October 2. She is in the running to be named Education Hometown Hero.

Here is what you need to do to make your vote count:

1. Go to this post on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/DdT4sN3gX1k/?stkn=MTNtbmZ3d2gwc2xhbw==

2. Like and comment

That's it and your vote will count! 🧡🦦🦉

We’re so excited to share that our PTA has been awarded the National PTA Here for Healthy Schools Quality Time Off (QTO) Grant! 🎉🎉

This grant will help us provide even more opportunities for family engagement activities, bringing our students, families, and school communities together throughout the year!

We’re so grateful to the National PTA and Lysol for this opportunity and can’t wait to put these grant funds to work for our school communities! 🦉🦦

Wise Owls & River Otters, grab a hoodie and look up tonight!

The Harvest Moon will be lighting up the night sky! It gets its name because it’s the full moon closest to the fall equinox. Long ago, its bright evening light gave farmers extra time to bring in their fall harvest.

Head outside about 7:30pm and see if you can spot it! Snap a picture and share it with us in the comments! Otto and Hootie will be watching too! 🦦🦉🌕

COIN CRAZE 2026 IS A WRAP!

We are so incredibly grateful for every student, family, teacher, staff member, and supporter who participated in Coin Craze this week! We raised $13,050.29!

Whether you sent in a handful of change, donated online, shared our posts, or helped your class rally to the finish line, every single contribution mattered. Watching our Wise Owls and River Otters get excited, cheer on their classrooms, and have a little friendly competition made this week so much fun.

A huge congratulations to all of our grade-level pizza party winners, and especially Ms. Smith’s class at Angel Oak Primary and Mr. Hoeckel’s class at Johns Island Elementary, who earned the ultimate Coin Craze prize — pieing their principals! 🥧😂

Most importantly, THANK YOU for continuing to show up for our schools. The support our PTA receives allows us to give back to our students and teachers throughout the year, and we truly could not do it without you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making Coin Craze such a success. 🦉🦦🧡💙

🔥 COIN CRAZE DAY 4 RESULTS ARE IN! 🔥

These leaderboards are getting SERIOUS! We saw some big jumps again today, and with just ONE DAY LEFT, it all comes down to tomorrow!

🏆 Mr. Hoeckel’s 5th grade class at Johns Island Elementary is holding the school lead with an impressive $946.38!

🏆 Ms. Smith’s 1st grade class at Angel Oak Primary is still on top with $583.70!

But don’t forget — there are TWO ways to win! The top class in each grade gets a 🍕 PIZZA PARTY, and the top class at each school gets to 🥧 PIE THE PRINCIPAL!

Tomorrow is your LAST chance to shake up the standings! 💰 Bring in those final coins or donate online at tinyurl.com/coincraze and select your teacher’s name.

⏰ Coin Craze ends TOMORROW at 12 PM!

Who will make one final jump to the top?! 👀🏆

COIN CRAZE DAY 3 RESULTS ARE IN!

We had some HUGE jumps on the leaderboards today! 👀 Several classes made big moves, and this race is far from over!

Right now, Mr. Hoeckel’s 5th grade class at JoIES and Ms. Smith’s 1st grade class at AOP are sitting at the TOP of their schools and holding onto those coveted Pie the Principal spots! 🥧🏆

But with the way these rankings are changing, no lead is safe!

Keep those coins coming and help your class make a move tomorrow! 🪙💰 You can also donate online at tinyurl.com/coincraze — just select your teacher’s name.

Who’s going to make the next big jump?! 👀
