Bright Oak Preschool Academy

In these early years, children are learning how to interpret the world. To learn more, visit brightoakpreschool.com.

Bright Oak Preschool Academy is a preschool on Johns Island, SC committed to educating and enriching the hearts and minds of young learners ages 6 weeks to 5 years (Pre-K). Early childhood education is the key to long-term academic and lifelong success as 90% of brain development occurs within the first five years of a child’s life. What happens during this critical time-frame is the strongest predictor of whether a child will enter school ready to learn and whether they will achieve future success in education, their career and life in general. Bright Oak Preschool Academy is an innovative preschool coming to Johns Island, SC committed to educating and enriching the hearts and minds of young learners. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach®, Bright Oak will offer a supportive learning environment for children 6 weeks to 5 years (pre-kindergarten) that fosters self-discovery, critical thinking and creativity through an emergent, child-led curriculum. We believe it’s the everyday, hands-on experiences that offer enriching educational opportunities for young children and that each child should be an active participant in his or her own learning.

We had a fantastic time at the Camp Road Middle School Career Fair yesterday! 🌟 It’s always so inspiring to connect with students and share a little about what we do every day at Bright Oak. Career fairs like this are such an important way for young learners to explore their interests, ask questions, and start thinking about their future paths.

Plus, we had a lot of fun meeting everyone, seeing the curiosity in action, and sharing a few laughs along the way. Thank you to the students and staff at Camp Road Middle School for hosting such a wonderful event! 💛

Here’s to inspiring the next generation! 👏

Today was a heart-filling day for our school community ❤️

We had the honor of dropping off our “Share the Love” donations at The Ronald McDonald House. For those who may not know, The Ronald McDonald House provides a comforting place for families to stay while their children are receiving medical care at nearby hospitals — keeping loved ones close during some of the hardest moments.

Because of YOUR generosity, we were able to donate 120 books and so many brand new stuffed animals to help bring comfort, smiles, and a little extra love to the families staying there.

Thank you to all of our amazing families for participating and making this possible. And a special thank you to our wonderful Parents Association for helping deliver this sweet love package today.

We are so proud of our community for showing what it truly means to share the love 💛

Dear Bright Oak Preschool Families,

In alignment with CCSD’s decision, Bright Oak Preschool will be closed on Monday, February 2.

This decision was made with the safety of our staff and families in mind, particularly with concerns around driving conditions.

We encourage everyone to enjoy the weather from home, stay safe, and stay warm.

We will remain in contact with any updates regarding Tuesday’s operations and will share more information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Warmly,
The Bright Oak Preschool Team
