Knowledge + Action = Power
Learn how money works. Then, put your knowledge into action with the 7 Money Milestones.
Why? Because it may unlock the power, but you need to start building wealth to transform your future.

Here's what that stat means—3 out of 4 Americans spend as much—or more—than they make.
No wiggle room for emergencies. No way to make ends meet if they lose their jobs. And little, if any, cash for building wealth.
This is what many people face. They don't understand the wealth-building potential of their income. Without that knowledge, what else is it good for? Why not spend it?
And those are the same misconceptions that I seek to stamp out for good. As a HowMoneyWorks educator, I teach people what's possible with the proper knowledge and strategies.

You may have heard that life insurance is too expensive or takes too much paperwork, but the truth may surprise you.
Life insurance offers many different options and coverage levels that you need to consider before making a decision.
+ What are your long-term financial goals?
+ Who do you want covered?
+ How much money will they need if something happens to you?
There are so many common misconceptions about life insurance that can make it seem like an impossible purchase.
But we’re here to help you separate fact from fiction so you can get the coverage you need at a price that fits your budget.

Let's be clear about this—teachers want their students to learn how money works. They know that knowledge + action = power. They're teachers, after all!
And overall, they feel vastly better prepared to teach financial literacy than teachers a decade ago. But many still need to brush up on their financial literacy—less than half felt confidents teaching students about things like risk and life insurance.
But still, it's a move in the right direction. Financial literacy is increasingly on the radar of educators. They just need the education themselves and support to teach students how money works.

Teachers are eager to learn how money works. They see firsthand the power of education!
But sadly, teachers are often victims of the financial illiteracy crisis themselves. Research shows that fewer than half of teachers feel confident teaching key about building wealth and financial protection.
So before teachers can begin teaching students how money works, they must receive a financial education themselves. Then they'll be better positioned than ever to change their students' futures!

Most people see budgeting as a necessary evil.
It's something you have to do, but it's not particularly fun or exciting.
And while it's true that creating and sticking to a budget can be a challenge, the rewards are more than worth the effort.
A budget is like a map for your personal finances. It helps you figure out where you're currently spending your money and where you want to be in the future.
It also allows you to set specific savings goals, build wealth, and even get out of debt.
If you create a budget that fits the way you live, it can actually be freeing. You'll see where your money is going, and make sure that you're spending on what matters.

You're teaching your kids about money. It may not be intentional, but it's happening every time you take your kids to the store or talk about it.
By the time they're 7 to 9 years old, their money habits are most likely set. And it's because they're spending money or taking a personal finance class—from watching you.
So what are you teaching your kids about money?
Are you teaching them that money is a source of anxiety? Or a source of opportunity?
The sooner you learn how money works and get your financial house in order, the sooner you can lay the foundation for your child's financial literacy. And that's one of the greatest gifts you can give them.
