🐻 You never know what you’ll find on the trails! Yesterday, I spotted this bear while walking near Kujawa Lake. It was a pretty exciting surprise to come across some local wildlife enjoying the preserve! 🌲

Encounters like this are a great reminder that we share these trails with all kinds of wildlife. If you’re out exploring, keep your eyes open, stay aware of your surroundings, and give wildlife plenty of space. You never know what you might see! 🍃🐾

A big thank you to everyone who came out to the Giving Tree Food Pantry Charity Car Show at the Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve! We loved seeing all of the incredible cars and the car owners who brought them out to share, along with everyone who came to support a great cause.

Feel free to bring your horses out for a ride and enjoy the trails! Maps and brochures are available to help you find the best routes for your adventure.

🚶‍♀️🚴 Walkers and bikers, please be mindful when sharing the trails — horses have the right of way. Slow down, give riders space, and help keep the trails safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Great news—all trails are officially open! The preserve is finally fully reopened after the ice storm. Thank you to everyone for your patience while we worked to clear the trails and make them safe for visitors.

Now is the perfect time to get outside and explore all the trails again! 🌲🥾
