Griswold High School has named Joshua Howarth as its new Head Football Coach.
A Canterbury native and 2003 Norwich Free Academy graduate, Howarth played football for the Wildcats and brings 21 years of football coaching experience, coaching in both Norwich and Griswold.
He currently resides in Griswold with his wife, Jen, and two young sons, and is a financial planner with Barnum Financial Group.
Howarth steps into the role after the retirement of Head Coach Gregg Wilcox, who coached the Wolverines since 2014. Long-time assistant coaches Phil Anctil and Pete Aubin also retired at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Howarth is excited to work with student-athletes from Griswold and Wheeler High Schools starting during summer training, and build on the strong leadership and 90-year legacy of the Wolverines football program.
Please let me know if you are interested in connecting with Coach Howarth and when you would like to cover Griswold/Wheeler's football program heading into the 2026-2027 fall season.
