Manarat Jeddah – More Than a School, A Lifetime Identity

For thousands of students who grew up in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Manarat Jeddah was never just a school—it was a place where lifelong friendships were formed, dreams took shape, and values were nurtured. Even decades after graduation, the word Manarat evokes memories of classrooms, playgrounds, dedicated teachers, and a unique multicultural environment that continues to unite its alumni across the world.

Founded in 1977, Manarat Jeddah was the first of the Manarat Schools established in Saudi Arabia. The school was founded under the patronage of Prince Mohammed bin Faisal Al Saud, the son of King Faisal, with the educational vision developed by the Shawi brothers. It aimed to combine high academic standards with strong moral values, offering both English and Arabic streams while bringing together students from diverse nationalities and backgrounds. Its success became the model for later Manarat schools across the Kingdom and even inspired institutions beyond Saudi Arabia. (Manarat Alumni)

What truly made Manarat special was its community. In a single classroom, Saudi students studied alongside children from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, the Philippines, Europe, North America, and many other countries. Long before diversity became a global buzzword, Manarat was already living it every day. Students learned not only mathematics and science but also respect, cooperation, and the ability to build friendships across cultures and languages. (Manarat Alumni)

Over the years, Manarat alumni have gone on to become successful entrepreneurs, doctors, engineers, academics, diplomats, artists, executives, and community leaders. Among its notable alumni are internationally recognized business leaders and members of the Saudi royal family, including Princess Reem Al Faisal. More importantly, thousands of graduates have quietly made meaningful contributions to society in every corner of the world. (Manarat Alumni)

But our greatest strength is not found in famous names—it is found in our bond. Whether we graduated in the 1980s, 1990s, or 2000s, we share a common story. We remember the teachers who inspired us, the school events that brought us together, the excitement of sports days, and the friendships that have stood the test of time. These shared experiences create a connection that remains strong regardless of where life has taken us.

Today, Manarat alumni are spread across Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Through reunions, online communities, and professional networks, we continue to reconnect, support one another, mentor younger generations, and celebrate our shared heritage.

Being a Manaratian is more than having attended a school—it is belonging to a global family built on excellence, respect, diversity, and lifelong friendship.

Once a Manaratian, always a Manaratian.
