TRUE NORTH SAILING CRUISERS RALLY - The True North Sailing Club Fleet will be heading out under the Verrazano Bridge this Sunday August 28, 2022 departing Liberty Landing Marina at 2:30 p.m. to round West Bank Lighthouse in Raritan Bay. The wind forecast is calling for 10 knots out of the east and the ebb current will carry us south until the flood starts at the bridge at 5:24 p.m. for our return back into New York Harbor. If any local sailors would like to add your boats to the flotilla please feel free to meet us at the entrance to the Morris Canal where we will be hoisting our mainsails at approximately 2:45 p.m. The more the merrier! I look forward to seeing you out there. Captain Rick

True North Sailing Club Skipper Hector proudly wears his True North Sailing T-Shirt on his recent trip to the Panama Canal! It's great to see True North sailors travelling the world.

Now that the New Jersey temps are dropping to the teens we are greatly looking forward to our next Caribbean sailing adventure. We'll be sailing 5 catamarans through the waters of the British Virgin Islands this February (sold out).

Our next trip this summer will once again be sailing through the islands of Croatia this August. We still have space available on that trip so if interested please send an email to [email protected]
ASAP. There is honestly no better way to see this historical Mediterranean gem than from the deck of a 45 foot catamaran.

North U Sail Trim Webinars 05/12/2020

Hi Sailors,
If you want to sail Faster and Smarter this is just a reminder that the North Sails - Sail Trim & Boat Speed Webinar Series continues tonight with the Symmetrical Spinnaker Trim Webinar. The American Sailing Association (A.S.A.) has partnered with North U. (The Education Division of North Sails) to offer a great online course for those of you waiting to get out on the water.

Sailing downwind is easy but optimizing downwind performance is tricky. You’ll learn how to control and optimize spinnaker shape with refinements that take you beyond the basics. You’ll also learn how to coordinate trim, helm, and crew weight to sail faster, deeper, and with more control.

If you can't view this or the other webinars in this package tonight remember that you get 30 days access. See info below.

Previous webinars included in the package offer were on Upwind Sail Trim so if you are having trouble getting your boat up to speed upwind or want to increase your pointing ability or downwind V.M.G. (velocity made good) this Webinar Series is a great solution for you.

These North U Sail Trim & Boat Speed Seminars cover sail trim on all points of sail. Upwind topics include jib trim, mainsail trim and helming. Downwind sections will cover symmetric and asymmetric spinnakers as well as tips for those who sail under jib and main only.

The differences between good and great trim, between OK and fast boat speed, are small and nuanced. Kick your speed up a notch at the A.S.A. / North U Sail Trim Webinar.

Live Webinar Dates Are Below (If you can't view live on these dates you also get 30 day access)
Session 1 - Upwind Trim (Part 1) - May 5th, 7:00 - 9:00 EDT
Session 2 - Upwind Trim (Part 2) - May 7th, 7:00 - 9:00 EDT
