Director and Head Teacher, Justine Wanat, received her Dual-Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at The Bank Street College of Education in Manhattan, New York, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Connecticut. Assistant Director and Head Teacher, Jocelyn Carley, received her Dual-Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at The Rutgers Graduate School of Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick, N.J.

This week, we are kicking off our Alphabet Adventure at Park Prep Academy with the letter A — Animals in Our Area! 🌿🐦🐿️ 🐈‍⬛🐕🐟🦨 and we are taking our learning across the entire curriculum!

🔬 Science — exploring animals and their habitats
🌎 Social Studies — learning about animals in our community and world
🔢 Math — counting, sorting, comparing, and measuring
📚 Literacy — building vocabulary, reading, and storytelling
🎨 Art — creating animal-inspired masterpieces
💃 Movement — moving like our favorite animals
🎵 Music — singing and making music together
🧩 Play & Exploration — investigating, discovering, and learning through hands-on experiences

Throughout the school year, each letter will bring a new theme and a whole new adventure, giving our students opportunities to make connections across all areas of learning. 🌈✨

💕 Friends leave a mark on your heart! 💕

For “Feelings and Friendship Week”,, each child added their own colorful mark to every classmate’s heart, creating a special collaborative masterpiece! 🎨❤️ Each student is going home with a heart filled with marks from all of their friends, a sweet reminder that we all leave a little piece of ourselves with one another! 🥰✨

Today our preschoolers talked about what makes them happy, loved, sad, scared, and mad as part of Feelings and Friendship Week! 🌈😊

We loved hearing their little voices, big feelings, and thoughtful answers while helping them learn that all feelings are okay and talking about them matters. 🫶

What a beautiful fall day! 🧡 Our Pumpkin Picking Party was filled with pumpkins, smiles, songs and SO much fun! 🎃🍁

But our favorite part? Getting our amazing Park Prep Academy families together and watching our PPA community grow. 🥰💚

Our students got to work creating another class bulletin board today! 🎨✂️ Each child chose their favorite farm friend — a cow, pig, or chicken — and began assembling their very own project. 🐄🐖🐓

The projects are too adorable and still drying so we will have to wait a few more days to put everything together for the BIG REVEAL! 👀✨

Today our little artists celebrated the most important masterpiece of all… THEMSELVES! 🥰✨

With watercolor paints, big smiles, and even BIGGER personalities, our students created beautiful self-love paintings featuring messages like:
