Four minutes.

That's roughly how long the brain can survive without blood flow before permanent damage begins.

It sounds clinical. But think about what that means in real life — at a family barbecue, in a grocery store, at your desk.

The average EMS response time in the U.S. is 7 to 10 minutes.

The math is uncomfortable. But it's also exactly why BLS training exists.

Basic Life Support teaches you to bridge that gap — to keep blood moving, keep oxygen flowing, and keep someone alive until the professionals arrive.

It's not complicated. It IS learnable. And it matters more than most people realize.
