Building Community Partnerships at Alaris Health 🐺

Our Wolfpack students had a wonderful visit to Alaris Health, where they spent the day connecting with seniors through reading, sharing stories, and enjoying time together. Some of our students even performed a dance, bringing smiles and energy to the room. The visit ended with everyone enjoying snacks and great conversation.

It was a meaningful experience for both our students and the seniors, and it was clear that everyone truly enjoyed the time spent together. Moments like these remind us how powerful community connections can be.

Our Wolfpack community came together to celebrate Black History Month by honoring Tony Goodson and Michele Jefferey, two individuals whose expertise, mentorship, and leadership have helped shape Explore Middle School. Through their guidance, wisdom, and commitment to our students, they have made a lasting impact on our school community.

Their dedication to mentoring young people and sharing their knowledge continues to inspire our students to lead with confidence, purpose, and pride.

🎤 Cheering on Syd!

Let’s show some Wolfpack love for Syd, an HCST alum and a wonderful supporter and mentor to some of the CPHS Music Audio Technology students. Syd is featured in a sneak peek for The Voice, and we are excited to see her sharing her talent on such a big stage.

We are proud to support members of our extended community who continue to inspire and uplift the next generation of artists.

STEM in Motion at Branch Brook Park!

Our students took learning on the move during their trip to Branch Brook Park Roller Skating Rink (BBP). This STEM learning experience brought engineering and physics to life as students explored how the mechanics of roller skates work while skating and observing motion in action.

It was a fun and engaging way to connect classroom concepts with real-world movement and problem solving. Learning truly comes alive when science is in motion.

🏒 Wolfpack Student Spotlight: Shawn Le 🐺

Congratulations to Shawn, one of our outstanding 6th graders, whose ice hockey team, the Jersey City Capitals 12U Peewee team, recently won the 2025–2026 New Jersey Youth Hockey League (NJYHL) 12U B Championship. The team defeated the Hunterdon Bears 4–0 in a shutout victory during the championship game.

Shawn played defense and helped his team work toward this incredible accomplishment after a season of dedication, teamwork, and hard work.

Even more exciting, the championship banner will be permanently displayed at Charlie Heger Ice Rink at Pershing Field in Jersey City, their home rink, commemorating the team’s achievement for years to come.

We are proud of you, Shawn, and love seeing our Wolfpack students succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Building Community Partnerships: The Commander Project 🇺🇸

Ms. Benito, Ms. Teschlog, Commander Tony A. Goodson, and the Veterans from Samuel R. Shelton VFW Post 2294 in Jersey City recently engaged with our students in meaningful collaboration.

Our Wolfpack provided valuable assistance with post-related projects, including military research, conducting Veteran interviews, and helping with organization efforts.

A sincere thank you to the Veterans for sharing their time, experiences, and perspectives on patriotism and military service. Listening firsthand to their stories was powerful and educational for our students.

We are proud to continue this meaningful partnership and grateful for opportunities that connect our students with local veterans in impactful ways.

🧨 Lunar New Year Celebration at Explore! 🏮

A heartfelt thank you to our incredibly supportive parents Grace Lee, Jane Park Woo, and Angela and Elysa Santiago for hosting a meaningful Lunar New Year celebration for our Wolfpack.

All grade levels actively participated in an engaging experience that brought Asian culture to life through a K-Pop dance lesson, trivia, food, and a lively dance battle. The energy in the room was unforgettable.

The K-Pop lesson was led by award-winning Mink Chung, a Korean American activist, educator, DJ, and dancer who has performed at Carnegie Hall, Chautauqua Institute, Joe’s Pub, Highline Ballroom, on CNN, and in venues around the world. He is also a recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

We are grateful for opportunities that celebrate culture, build understanding, and bring our community together. 🐺✨
