Amazing elephant cookie container by one of our favorite members, Kevin Baker. Kevin consistently brings a positive vibe to the studio and quietly knocks out work that inspires us all. We had to quickly take photos of this out of the kiln before it was gone haha. Your work makes us happy :) Thank you Kevin!

We are thrilled to announce our first visiting artist Master Class: Throwing Off the Hump with Yoon Hee Kim Yoon Hee Kim | Ceramics. Dec 17 and 18. Registration and program details online.
Students will learn how to efficiently produce consistent ceramic forms from a single mass of clay, with an emphasis on good posture, efficiency, and
reducing physical strain.
In this class expect to:
• Produce consistent, identical cups, bowls, and small vases in a series
• Make and use custom measuring tools for accuracy
• Remove pieces from the hump without distortion
• Develop an efficient and healthy throwing workflow
Day-to-day syllabus is as follows:
Thursday Dec 17 th , 9:30am- 2:30pm
Centering, cylinder cups, and distortion-free removal
Friday Dec 18 th , 9:30am-2:30pm
Tool making and production throwing
This class is suitable for intermediate beginners and above. Yoon’s unique skillset
and time-honored techniques will give you the confidence to elevate your work. For
prerequisites, students should be comfortable centering clay and throwing a 4-inch
cylinder independently.
$500 for Betty’s members
$600 for nonmembers

The Betty Bowl 2.0 :) Six years ago we started making bowls to raise money for Covid relief and public art education at Artshack Brooklyn (happy 10 year anniversary btw 👏🎉) This month we’ve been testing bowls in the back, gearing up to start selling again. So many good causes in JC that we could put the $$ towards. Stay tuned….

We will be celebrating the beautiful community that fills our studio 💕 And if you’ve never been to Betty’s this is the perfect excuse :)
