🚗⚡ What an exciting day at Thrive Engineers Kids’ Lab! Our young engineers explored circuits by building DC motor-powered cars, discovered how the brain works through neuroplasticity, and engineered their own Myelin Lamps. We also celebrated trailblazing engineer Katya Echazarreta as our STEM Icon! 🌟
Our 5–6-year-old learners explored solar power by building solar-powered cars ☀️, then expressed their creativity through drawings of the sun while discussing the many ways it impacts our world. Hands-on STEM learning at its best! 💡

🚀 Another exciting day of STEM learning! Our Thrive Engineers Kids Lab students continued designing their Operations Games, reviewed circuits, and engineered balloon-powered cars while learning about inspiring STEM icon Zion Clark. Meanwhile, our STEM Sprouts explored the basics of coding by programming KIBO robots, using sequencing to make their robots move, turn, stop, and beep! 🤖🎈💡 Every activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. 🌟

With the unexpected early dismissal on Tuesday, June 16, I know some of us are suddenly trying to figure out how to juggle work calls, Zoom meetings, and kids being home earlier than expected.

If it would be helpful, we’re opening up for a special STEAM Cup Champions Day from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM at our space on 704 Grand Street.

We’ll keep them busy (and hopefully very happy 😊) with soccer drills and mini-matches, Dash robot soccer, board games, coding a soccer game with MakeCode, building DIY cardboard soccer fields, and cheering on the France 🇫🇷 vs. Senegal 🇸🇳 World Cup match at 3:00 PM.

Science came ALIVE at PS 3 Frank R Conwell today! ⚡🌈 Students built their own circuits and light sabers, crafted glowing Mother’s Day cards, sent DIY hovercrafts gliding across the floor, AND created clouds in a jar — all in one day! Watching their curiosity ignite over rainbows, rain, and the magic of science is what it’s all about. 🚀☁️

Our junior bioengineers are building the future — one motor at a time! 🔬⚙️ In the Thrive Engineer Kids’ Lab, students designed a Motorized Digestion System with a vibrating esophagus and a churning stomach paddle to simulate how your body actually breaks down food. Inspired by Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic, they’re learning that real science takes patience, creativity, and grit. 💪 Grateful to the Jersey City Department of Health & Human Services and the NJ State 2026 Opioid Settlement Grant for making this possible. 🙏
