At Small Discoveries Preschool we promote a holistic model of early childhood development. We foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for children through a program of exceptional educational care. To that end, we pair structured learning experiences with creative play opportunities, designed to enhance growth and exploration in a safe and nurturing environment. Our philosophy on education places the parents, teachers, and adults in any child’s life as co-researchers in the young person’s quest for knowledge. The foundation of our program is built on this philosophy of active, child-led, adult-supported learning. We create an environment built for daily exploration and discovery, which are the building blocks for developing self-esteem and problem solving skills. At Small Discoveries Preschool our High Scope state approved curriculum provides hands-on activities and a consistent daily routine which allows children to learn through art, weekly projects, and activities reflecting their own ideas and interests. We help children discover, explore and learn about the world around them to their fullest potential. Small Discoveries Preschool encourages parental involvement by hosting regular family events as well as special programs such as baby yoga, music, and cooking classes. Parents are welcomed to come for a visit to read a story or help out during snack time. Our intentionally designed, well-organized classrooms promote positive mental, social and emotional growth. At Small Discoveries Preschool, the child is an active learner and gains knowledge about the world through their individual experiences as well as shared experience within their community.
