Inspired by the WE GREW UP IN JERSEY CITY group,
I LOVE JERSEY CITY pays tribute to all things that make Jersey City a great place to live and grow up.

This PAGE was originally dedicated to those who grew up in JERSEY CITY (40's, 50', 60's, 70's, 80's and early 90's) and continue to be proud of where they started. For the group dedicated to Jersey City's past, visit WE GREW UP IN JERSEY CITY. As of 2/9/2012, we will now acknowledge Jersey City in the modern day era and focus on the current events that helped to develop Jersey City. The PAGE NAME

Check out Pianist Envy at 100 York Street.

Just opened a few weeks ago.....

The singing waiters were awesome to listen to and the bartenders provided excellent service for my wife and I.....making it an awesome evening with friends.

Happy Kwanzaa to our family and friends who celebrate on The STOOP.

Hannukah is on its way and the traditional Christmas celebrations are winding down ( Though the celebration continues into January with the Three Kings celebration.) Kwanzaa is a week-long holiday honoring African culture and traditions. It falls between December 26 and January 1 each year.

Growing up in Jersey City gave me the opportunity to learn and see more traditions beside my own............I'M SO GLAD I GREW UP IN JERSEY CITY.

TWO CUPS OF COFFEE
One for me and one for you..... I just wanted to greet everyone and express my appreciation to be a part of our virtual Jersey City community.

I learn something every day through your stories, photos and special memories shared.....while our favorite hometown may no longer be what we recall or recognize it to be, it has become home to many others who will hopefully have positive experiences like we did..albeit in an era with different conditions.

Nonetheless, Jersey City is special to all of us and glad that We Grew Up in Jersey City remains a place where people can visit at any given time to recall the wonderful experiences of growing up there.

The photo I will use today is a photo taken of me and Mrs Cynthia Harris. For our coffee talk, We will celebrate our past and will pay tribute to the Jersey City Public library. I invite you all to check out the many historical data they have and ask if you can help their efforts by sharing yearbooks they don't have yet. ( Give them a call when considering to throw out memorabilia like your Jersey City yearbook..... It's another way to say We Grew Up in Jersey City and proud of it!....thanks for considering.

Also sending a special THANK YOU to our Honorary Co Authors who volunteer on a daily basis to keep our online STOOP an enjoyable place....( Happy belated birthday Mary Jo Ambrosia )

Until the next Reunion, have a great holiday season!! Due to our melting pot status......I will attempt to greet everyone on the Stoop in different languages. Here it goes......

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR! Prettige kerstdagen en een Gelukkig Nieuwjaar Zalig Kerstfeest en Gelukkig nieuw jaar Joyeux Noël et bonne année Froue Weihnåcht'n, und a guad's nei's Joah Mele Kalikimaka me ka Hauoli Makahiki Hou Naragsak a Paskua Narang-ay a Baro a Tawen kadakayo amin Selamat hari natal dan tahun baru Buon Natale e felice anno nuovo God jul og godt nytt år Feliz Navidad y próspero año nuevo, Nollaig aoibhinn agus bliain nua Shona ( for my buddy Tom Curran)

**************THANK YOU EVERYDAY***************

Veterans Day is an official United States holiday which honors men and women who have served in the armed service, also known as veterans.

Veterans Day is a federal holiday tobserved on November 11, but WE GREW UP IN JERSEY CITY will celebrate our JERSEY CITY VETERANS the whole week starting TODAY......Many members participated last year and we hope to do it again this year. ( check out the photos donated throughout the year)

Todays Good Morning greeting goes to all Jersey City Veterans we know.

Let's pay tribute to our men and women in uniform who have served in the Armed Forces by sharing a special story, posting their photos in uniforms....if you have relatives, neighbors, classmates, co workers or special friends that you grew up in Jersey City that you want to pay tribute to.............this week will be dedicated to them.

Jersey City has many veterans and it's the least we can all do to express our appreciation for their service to our Country.

It's free, it's online, there's no charge....just your time to post photos, share memories or type in a story about that person.

Thanks for considering.

CONTINUED THANK YOU " to those WHO PROTECT, SERVE and RESPOND TO YOUR SAFETY NEEDS.....Lets kick off the week. with a tribute all former, retired and current First Responders.

When you have a moment, just send positive thoughts and prayers to those who chose a profession geared to help us in need. IF you see your local Police Officers, Fireman, Sheriffs, Corrections Officers and EMT..tell them Thanks. Grazie, Salamat, Gracias.....we appreciate what they do daily.

Let's think about JCPD, JCFD, HUDSON COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE , Corrections Officers and EMT along with all first responders from Jersey City that we know and grew up with. If there is anyone related to a first responder today....send them a virtual cup of coffee and a buttered roll.

HAVE A GREAT Week and Share the Goodwill!

(NOTE:This is a form of appreciation and intended to foster a positive environment. Anything other than words of appreciation will be removed...........)
