The Hub: Centralized Tutoring Services

The Hub: Centralized Tutoring Services Led by trained SI leaders, over thirty SI sessions in science and math are scheduled weekly.

The Hub: Centralized Tutoring Services, offers NJCU students tutoring in Mathematics, English/writing, ESL, GRE, Praxis, and Praxis Core, as well as academic workshops. The Hub: Centralized Tutoring Services at New Jersey City University provides a diverse student population with academic and student support services that empower students to become independent learners and campus leaders. By providing holistic, personalized tutoring and student support services in writing and mathematics, The Hub enhances retention and supports the student success initiatives set forth by the university. In addition to tutoring, The Hub assists the Office of Specialized Services and Supplemental Instruction (OSS/SI) by hosting Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions in three newly constructed, state of the art classrooms. Classes include*, but are not limited to, algebra for college, intermediate algebra, calculus, survey of modern math, anatomy & physiology, genetics, microbiology, principles of biology, cell biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry I & II, and college physics.

The Office of Centralized Tutoring and Academic Support Programming at New Jersey City University is excited to announce additional tutoring services for students through TutorMe, an online tutoring service provided to NJCU students.

TutorMe is an online tutoring platform that connects students to live tutors 24 hours a day in over 300 subjects, right from their computer or smart device. TutorMe's network of over 10,000 verified tutors has helped more than half a million students improve their grades, understand difficult concepts, or get help with simple questions!

Description:
Rebound, developed through cross-divisional partnerships that utilize multiple funding sources, has been a successful university-wide academic probation support program that ensures students receive timely, individualized support. Components include regularly scheduled tutoring, academic coaching, advisement, counseling, and outreach. During our interactive presentation, participants will learn how we developed partnerships that utilize multiple funding sources, capitalized on multiple perspectives, developed a team representative of the community and programming, and maintained shared governance of programming, funding, and reporting.
