π IT Interview Series | Part 3: Networking Interview Questions
Ready to strengthen your networking knowledge for your next IT interview?
In Part 3 of our IT Interview Series, we're covering common networking questions that employers ask to assess your understanding of core networking concepts and your ability to explain them clearly.
π Practice answering these interview questions:
β
What is an IP address?
Explain that it's a unique address assigned to every device on a network, similar to a mailing address that helps devices communicate.
β
What's the difference between TCP and UDP?
Know when to use each protocol. TCP is reliable and connection-based, while UDP is faster and commonly used for streaming, gaming, and real-time applications.
β
How do you troubleshoot a network issue?
Walk through your troubleshooting process step by step, check physical connections, verify IP configuration, test the gateway, external connectivity, and DNS before identifying the root cause.
β
What is DNS and how does it work?
Describe DNS as the internet's "phonebook" that translates domain names into IP addresses so devices can locate websites.
β
What is DHCP?
Explain how DHCP automatically assigns IP addresses and other network settings, making network management more efficient and reducing manual configuration errors.
π‘ Pro Tip: Interviewers aren't looking for memorized definitions; they want to see that you understand how networking works in real-world environments. Keep your answers clear, practical, and explain why each concept matters.
At PC AGE Career Institute, we prepare future IT professionals with hands-on training, industry-recognized certifications, career services, and the interview skills needed to launch successful careers.

π IT Interview Series | Part 2: Windows & System Support Interview Questions
Ready for the technical side of your IT interview?
In Part 2 of our IT Interview Series, we're covering common Windows & System Support questions that help employers evaluate your troubleshooting skills and problem-solving approach.
π Practice answering these interview questions:
β
How do you troubleshoot a slow computer?
Start with Task Manager, check startup programs, updates, malware, and available disk space before assuming it's a hardware issue.
β
A user can't log in to Windows. What do you do?
Rule out simple issues first, then check the account, password, lockout status, and whether it's a local or Active Directory problem.
β
A system keeps crashing. How would you fix it?
Review Event Viewer, identify recent changes, and isolate software, driver, or hardware issues before taking action.
β
How do you check system resources?
Know when to use Task Manager for quick checks and Resource Monitor for deeper performance analysis.
β
What's the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit Windows?
A 64-bit OS supports much more RAM and is the standard for modern computers.
π‘ Pro Tip: Interviewers don't just want the answer, they want to hear your troubleshooting process. Explain your steps clearly and logically.
At PC AGE Career Institute, we help future IT professionals build the technical skills and interview confidence needed to launch successful careers.
