Can you fly? We did! On January 16th, Mrs. Tabor, Ms. Lopez, Mr. Schau and Mr. Gaskin went on a field trip to iFly. iFly is an indoor skydiving experience where we felt physics first hand. It felt like we were flying on a cushion of air. It is the most thrilling STEM field trip ever. Sometimes teachers need to have a little fun too!

The inclement weather did not stop METS Charter School students from volunteering at Saturday’s Dan Finn Classic! The basketball was great, but the humanitarian focus of our 2020 event was even better. The DFC honored the families of fallen JCPD Detective Joseph Seals as well as Army Major August Gonzalez, presenting each family with an education donation of $5,000 each. The event also honored Hudson Catholic sophomore Antonio Sellers who is suffering from a very aggressive form of brain cancer; the organization provided the family with a stair lift for his home. These things were all made possible through the generosity of hundreds, including our student volunteers whose enthusiasm for the sport and the community were palpable. @ Jersey City Armory

It is a community focused on building a better world for tomorrow by engaging high school students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). FIRST Tech Challenge is about teaching students the value of hard work, innovation and creativity. It goes beyond competition by teaching teenagers the importance of working together, sharing ideas and treating each other with respect and dignity. (FIRST Tech Challenge - New Jersey)
