Another Success Story Sunday! We are so proud of our Alumni!
“I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from NJCU’s Criminal Justice Department. That experience has played a tremendous role in my career as an academic today. I was quickly inspired by the backgrounds of my professors. Navigating the rigorous graduate program taught me the importance of social justice advocacy through research. I looked forward to my classes because they were each insightful and spoke to the many interests I have. As a Graduate Assistant in the department, I also had the opportunity to give input on new curricula, helping to create a new class on critical issues in policing. Because of this experience, I am now a tenured Associate Professor of Justice Studies at Montclair State University, giving back to my community and students just as I witnessed at NJCU.

Introducing Success Story Sundays! Every week the NJCU Criminal Justice Graduate Program will be posting previous graduates and their amazing accomplishments!
“NJCU’s Criminal Justice Graduate Program was very influential in allowing me to better understand the criminal justice system from a holistic point of view. With its diverse community, NJCU was the perfect fit for me, a Hispanic female and a law enforcement practitioner. This program also provided an advanced theoretical foundation that revealed some deeply rooted problems in the criminal justice system. Being engaged in classroom discussion as well as challenging myself helped me improve my career development through articulate communication skills. In addition, the professors' instructional clarity empowered me to continue learning and ensure that people who enter the criminal justice system are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
