What does it look like when students take ownership of their growth? ✨

At Kindle High School, Student-Led Conferences put students in the driver’s seat. Instead of teachers telling families how students are doing, students reflect on their own progress, share their goals, and lead the conversation with their families and Spark Coach.

Through Spark, our advisory program, students build the self-awareness, executive functioning skills, and confidence to understand where they are, where they want to go, and what it will take to get there.

It’s all part of helping students become active participants in their own learning.

💙 Today, Kindle Middle School went BLUE for the Week of Respect!

For today’s Spirit Week theme, Blue Out Bullying, students wore blue to show their support for kindness, inclusion, and standing up against bullying.

We’re proud to see our students come together to help build a school where everyone feels respected, valued, and safe. 💙

Our 9th graders took their learning beyond the classroom with a visit to Biblioteca Criolla! 📚🌎

As part of their Spanish project, Leyendo para la Comunidad (Reading for the Community), students explored Spanish-language children’s books and selected texts they’ll adapt and eventually share through interactive read-alouds with local children.

Along the way, they’re building their Spanish reading, writing, and speaking skills while preparing to use those skills to connect with others in a meaningful way. 🔥

What a great night at Kindle! 🔥

Thank you to all of the families who joined us for Middle School Back-to-School Night last night. It was wonderful to see our classrooms filled with families connecting with teachers, learning more about their children’s classes, and experiencing the energy of our school community firsthand.

Next up: High School Student-Led Conferences and Back-to-School Night next Wednesday, October 7! We can’t wait to welcome our high school families. 🧡

🔨 Building skills from the ground up in Forge!

For their first mini-build of the year, students were challenged to design and construct a free-standing tower. Along the way, they practiced some of the skills at the heart of Forge: teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and safe, effective tool use.

The towers may have been the final product, but learning how to build, collaborate, and bring an idea to life was the real goal. 🛠️🔥

🦈 Shark Tank, Kindle style!

From Day 1, Kindle students are learning by doing. In Spark, students worked in small groups to identify something that could make their school or community better, develop an idea, and then pitch it to their classmates.

Along the way, they practiced skills that show up across the Kindle experience: collaborating, ideating, communicating, and presenting with confidence.

At Kindle, these aren't skills students wait until high school—or adulthood—to develop. We create opportunities to practice them from the very beginning. 🔥
