AI agency starts with learning by doing. 💡

Today, we welcomed leaders and engineers from Playlab to Kindle for a hands-on professional learning session focused on AI Agency—helping our educators think critically and creatively about how AI can support their work and student learning.

Then, our staff got to build. With support from the Playlab team, educators began developing their own AI-powered apps designed around real needs and opportunities in their classrooms and across our school.

We’re excited to keep exploring what it looks like for educators—and ultimately students—to move beyond simply using AI to actively shaping what it can do. 🔥

There are many reasons families choose Kindle—but at the heart of them is a desire for their child to be truly known, challenged, and supported.

We’re building a school community where students are respected as individuals, encouraged to grow, and surrounded by adults and peers who care about who they are and who they’re becoming.

We’re grateful to the families who have chosen Kindle and trust us to be part of their children’s journeys. 🧡

✨ Find Your Spark. Forge Our Future.

✨ A little throwback to our 8th Grade Formal last spring!

We loved celebrating this incredible group as they wrapped up their middle school years at Kindle—and now, we’re just a few weeks away from welcoming them back for another first: becoming Kindle’s founding 9th grade. 🔥

We can’t wait to see what they build, discover, and accomplish as they help shape the next chapter of Kindle Education.

High school, here we come! 🎓

Last week, Kindle's Co-Founders had the opportunity to join education leaders from across the country at Google Headquarters for the kickoff of Playlab's AI Lab Schools cohort.

Over the next two years, we'll collaborate with innovative schools nationwide to explore how AI can expand what's possible in teaching and learning while keeping students, educators, and human relationships at the center.

We're excited to learn alongside this incredible community, share what we're building, and bring new ideas back to our students and staff. The future of education is being shaped now, and we're grateful to be part of the conversation.

✨ Throwback to one of our favorite moments from this spring! ✨

Through our after-school partnership with Xinyi Dance Studio, Kindle students spent weeks learning new choreography, building confidence, and expressing themselves through dance. Their hard work culminated in an incredible opportunity to perform on stage at Saint Peter's University as part of a larger dance recital.

Watching their journey—from rehearsals like this one to the bright lights of the stage—was a reminder that some of the most meaningful learning happens when students have the chance to discover new passions, work toward a shared goal, and celebrate what they've accomplished together.

Thank you to for creating such a wonderful experience for our students. 💙

A couple of weeks ago, our Co-Founder & Co-CEO, DJ Hartigan, had the opportunity to speak on the main stage at the National Charter School Conference as part of a panel on AI in education.

While AI is changing the world, one thing at Kindle won't change: great teachers are at the center of every student's learning experience. We see AI as a tool to support educators, spark student curiosity, and create even more opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and inquiry—not as a replacement for the relationships that matter most.

We're especially excited to continue this work as we kick off our participation in the Playlab AI Lab Schools cohort next week. As one of the inaugural AI Lab Schools, we'll be collaborating with educators, researchers, and engineers from across the country to thoughtfully explore how AI can strengthen teaching and learning.

We're excited about what lies ahead as we prepare students not just to use emerging technologies, but to thrive in a world increasingly shaped by them.

Still glowing from one of our favorite nights of the school year. ✨💙🧡

Our glow-in-the-dark Spring Dance lit up Kindle with neon colors, great music, and lots of laughter. Students spent the evening dancing with friends, making memories, and celebrating the incredible community we've built together.

The school year may be over, but moments like these remind us that some of the brightest parts of Kindle happen outside the classroom—when students can simply have fun, connect with one another, and enjoy being part of something special.

Here's to glowing all summer long... and to making even more memories together next year. 🌟

This summer, we're looking back on some of the unforgettable experiences that made this school year so special.

One of the most memorable? Our 6th grade cave expedition.

A small group of students traveled to Schoharie Caverns in upstate New York, where they spent the day exploring underground passages alongside experienced cave explorers, a college professor, parent chaperones, and Kindle staff. Armed with headlamps and plenty of courage, they navigated narrow passageways, waded through water, and experienced the incredible feeling of standing in complete darkness beneath the earth.

The adventure was about so much more than caves. It challenged students to persevere through discomfort, work together, ask questions, and embrace the unknown—the same habits of mind we strive to cultivate every day at Kindle.

Some lessons can't be learned from a textbook. 🧡

Project-based learning and design thinking aren't just for students—they're for educators, too.

This week, three members of the Kindle team spent three days immersed in the NuVuX Studio model, experiencing the learning process from the perspective of our students. Through a hands-on design challenge to reimagine the future of a bus stop, they collaborated, prototyped, tested ideas, and practiced the same creative problem-solving we ask of students every day.

Beyond the project itself, the team explored how we can better support students in developing technical building skills, project management, documentation, and team communication so their ideas can become reality.

The best professional learning isn't just about hearing new ideas—it's about doing the work. We can't wait to bring what our team learned back to our classrooms and continue strengthening the innovative, hands-on learning experiences that make Kindle unique.

School may be out for the summer, but we're still smiling about the memories we made on the last day of the year.

While the weather had other plans for Field Day, our incredible staff and PTO transformed the day into an unforgettable indoor celebration filled with laughter, teamwork, and just the right amount of friendly competition. From students taking on staff in an epic tug-of-war battle to a waterlogged send-off for the graduating Class of 2026, it was the perfect way to close out an amazing year.

Thank you to our families, staff, PTO, and students for making this school year so special. We hope everyone has a joyful, restful, and adventure-filled summer. We'll see you in September! ☀️
