Interestingly, I could not sleep and at 3 am this song came up. Baroque composers used "The Doctrine of Affections" where the music reflects the lyrics or the words of the piece. Even if you are not a musician, watching Simon play this piece should make evident the words that he is singing. I appreciate this composition for its accompaniment, for the cinematography, but most of all for how the words draw me to Jesus.

To my music students, Listen carefully. Listen to the quality of the chords (major/minor). Listen to his voice quality. Most importantly, read the translation. See how the music reflects the words. Brilliant writing.

Precepts will be performing The Boar's Head Madrigal Dinner for our music program this fall! Dr. Davis will be leading and directing this upcoming musical. Ms. Tori Beth will be assisting during the beginning of the fall for this production.

A few late, but very quickly approaching, school year announcements!

Announcement #1 📣
Liberty is offering a basics Biblical Hebrew course for students 14 and up (includes adults!). This will be via zoom, Thursday evenings by ACC student Isaiah Ziersch. There will be a FREE Hebrew study group that will include sharing, devotionals, and further study on Tuesdays.
