Welcome back, MMUUSD! 🎉

Today is the first day of school for our K-9th grade and CTE students, and Superintendent Muldoon and Community Engagement Coordinator Nora Pemberton couldn't be more excited to launch the 2026-27 season of A Mount Mansfield Minute!

In Part 1 of our multi-part series on BELONGING, we chat with two inspiring parent group leaders: Marie Claire Johnson (Brewster-Pierce Memorial School PIE) and Andrea Parikh (Underhill Central School PTO). They break down the ins and outs of Partners in Education/PTO/Boosters (what's in a name?), the power of school traditions, and the crucial work caregivers lead outside our campus walls.

Plus, don't miss the inspiring poetry feature mentioned in today's chat: "To Be of Use" by Marge Piercy.

Five towns, one heartbeat, and countless opportunities to show up for our kids. We are so grateful for our parent groups and for all of you tuning in. We've got this! 💪

WANTED: A Coach With a Heart Full of Hope (and maybe a pocket full of biscuits)

Listen up, CHMS family! I BELIEVE we can find the perfect fit to lead our incredible Boys Soccer Team on the Richmond pitch this season!

With the new season of Ted Lasso hitting Apple TV, life is officially imitating art. Now, Richmond, Vermont needs its very own Ted (or Rebecca, or Keeley, or Coach Beard)!

We’re looking for a leader who knows that doing the right thing is never the wrong thing. Someone ready to teach our athletes how to be a goldfish, leave it all on the field, and support each other through every win, loss, and tie (because, yes, ties still exist in middle school soccer).

What We’re Looking For:

Tactical Genius? Great!
Relentless optimism and a killer mustache? Also great!
Key Qualifications: Must love teamwork, believe in the power of curiosity over judgment, and be willing to bring warm biscuits to the front office (okay, the biscuits are optional, but highly encouraged).

Help us write the next great sports story right here at Camels Hump Middle School. Whether you're a seasoned strategist or just someone who cares deeply about empowering young athletes, we want YOU!

Position Type: Part-Time
Salary: $2,553 to $3,868 Stipend

Ready to join the club? Don't be a goldfish on this opportunity!

To Apply: Please complete an application on Applicant Tracking/Schoolspring.
For additional information: Contact CHMS Assistant Principal Joe O’Brien at [email protected] or call 802-434-2188.

So what are you waiting for? Apply today... or as Roy Kent would say, "Oy!" ⚽

🍎 5 Towns, 1 Heartbeat: Free Summer Meal Kits for Kids! ☀️

Because all kiddos need to eat, the MMUUSD Nutrition Program is excited to offer free Summer Meal Kits!

Did you know that signing up for summer meals helps our entire community? It’s true... You are never taking a meal away from someone else. In fact, it’s the exact opposite: the more families who sign up, the MORE funding our district receives for school nutrition equipment, local food sourcing, and student programming! It’s a total win-win for our schools and our kids.

Fill out our interest survey so we can plan accordingly and make sure we have enough food ready.

👉 SIGN UP here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf8y-b2n8kULmJr9xaL92iObMtmxTuIQQ59SFLj3opfVnXQ7Q/viewform

Meal kits are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Help us spread the word—share this post with your neighbors and let's fuel our community's kids all summer long!
