Jenks Wild is such a special time for the 6th grade students at JEI and JWI. The generosity of the Jenks Public Schools Foundation as well as a lot of hard work from teachers, staff, and parents help to make this event a great learning environment for all students. It is also a great opportunity for collaboration between PT and the school team to be sure each student has the ability to have the best trip. When a student's classroom changes to an outside environment, the accessibility needs for that student changes too! Behind the scenes collaboration, like schedule planning, providing alternative seating and using a multi-terrain wheelchair, are all ways PT has supported our students attending Jenks Wild this year.

Take a peek at our students enjoying these new inclusive pieces. Inclusive playground equipment is designed to accommodate children of all abilities by promoting accessibility, engagement, and social interaction. Here are some students enjoying the "We Go Swing" at West Elementary. You can find one new inclusive playground piece at each of our elementary playgrounds.

As we welcome fall, we don't want to forget about another fun month we celebrate. October is Physical Therapy Month! Physical therapy in a school setting focuses on assisting students with participation in school activities. Physical therapists provide interdisciplinary support by collaborating with teachers, paraprofessionals, students, families, and other staff to create a supportive and accessible environment. Our physical therapists aim to empower students by fostering independence and inclusion in their educational experience. Happy Physical Therapy month to our 2 favorite PTs serving our district!
