History came to life on the floor of Jenkins High School. 💚
This special light show opened the induction of our 2026 Jenkins Hall of Fame Class and set the stage for an unforgettable afternoon. Approximately 150 family members, former players, friends, alumni, and community members joined us to celebrate five outstanding Cavaliers.
🏆 Phil Greer took the work ethic developed at Jenkins to the University of Kentucky and into successful careers in coaching, SEC officiating, and business. His journey is a powerful example of determination and perseverance.
🏆 Roger Greer was an exceptional multi-sport athlete who continued his career at the University of Kentucky. His success in athletics and business has always been accompanied by loyalty, generosity, and character.
🏆 Teresa Bentley established a standard of excellence for Jenkins girls basketball. Her teams were prepared, disciplined, and tough and her influence on her players still resonates today.
🏆 April Damron Charles built a softball dynasty at Jenkins. Beyond the victories, she taught generations of young women to be tough, expect more from themselves, and recognize what they were capable of accomplishing.
🏆 Harvey Tackett led some of the greatest basketball teams in school history, including the 1991 All “A” Regional Championship team. His greatest lessons were about character, responsibility, and carrying yourself the right way through adversity.
Their records and accomplishments explain why their names entered the history of Jenkins athletics. The lives they influenced explain why their legacies have endured.
One of the most meaningful parts of the day was seeing so many former players, families, alumni, and friends reconnect and share memories. Your presence made this honor even more special.
