Step right up for our Big Top Book Tasting: The Greatest Reads on Earth! 🎪🎟️

6th and 8th grade ELA classes stepped under the Big Top for a circus-themed book tasting. Students traveled in small circus troupes and rotated through genre “rings” featuring Mystery, Fantasy, Sports, Suspense, Biography, Graphic Novels, Verse Novels, and more.

At each station, students completed a quick circus challenge to help choose a book, then sampled the cover, summary, and first pages to see if it might be a great fit. Along the way, they explored new genres, discovered new authors, and learned more about themselves as readers.

It was a joyful celebration of Georgia Reads Week, joining schools across the state in lifting up books, building excitement for reading, and discovering some of the Greatest Reads on Earth! 🍿📚✨

The best way to jump back into action after Fall Break? A delicious warm breakfast! 🍗☕

A huge THANK YOU to the incredible Jefferson Middle School PTO for organizing and Natalie White from Varsity Yearbook for sponsoring a wonderful Bojangles breakfast for our JMS staff on our first day back!

Starting the second quarter with full bellies and big smiles makes all the difference. We are so grateful for our thoughtful PTO and community partners who treat our teachers and staff like royalty! 🔴🔵

Ms. Westphal hosted a special Cooking Club session in Coach Stephenson’s classroom with a hands-on salsa making lesson! Students rolled up their sleeves to chop, peel, and squeeze fresh ingredients to create a delicious (and healthy!) treat from scratch.

Step right up! 🎟️🎪 Ms. Yarbrough’s 7th-grade class transformed learning into the ultimate interactive carnival!

Students put their engineering, math, and creativity to the test by designing and building their very own carnival games from scratch. Today, students and staff cashed in their tickets to play, win prizes, and test out these hands-on creations.

Science hits different under the glow lights! 💡🍪🌑

6th graders brought lunar science to life during their Oreo Moon Phase Lab! To keep the Glow Run energy going strong, students worked under blacklights to accurately model every stage of the moon cycle using the classic sandwich cookies.

Service with a smile—even in the rain! 🐍🌧️✨

For the 22nd consecutive year, Jefferson Middle School students represented our school at the Elachee Nature Science Center annual Wildlife Festival! Twelve dedicated 7th and 8th-grade volunteers spent most of their Saturday educating over 500 visitors on local snake species.

Our students shared the natural history of their classroom snakes, guided young guests through crafts and educational games, and showed off their artistic skills at the face-painting station.

Mrs. McAuley and the entire JMS family are so proud of these students for their hard work and serving hearts—and a huge thank you to their supportive parents for making it all possible! 🔴🔵✨
