8th IN THE NATION!

What an unbelievable week at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta! Tyler and Colton absolutely crushed it, placing 8th overall in Robotic Urban Search and Rescue.

They didn't just compete against the absolute best in the country—they proved they belong right up there with them.

Beyond the competition floor, it was an unforgettable experience. The guys had a blast meeting peers from every corner of the country and networking with business representatives from some of the biggest major brands in the industry. The future career opportunities are wide open!

We are so incredibly proud of the hard work, late nights, and dedication they put in to get to this stage.

Now, it’s time for a well-deserved break and some downtime. But knowing these guys, it won't be long before we start breaking down the rig, polishing up their designs, and rebuilding to come back even stronger next year.

Huge thank you to everyone in the community who supported our road to Nationals!

As the dust settles on an incredible year, we want to take a look back and celebrate the hard work, late nights, and massive achievements of our Electrathon and Formula Student teams! From engineering new chassis from scratch to shaving seconds off track times, our students absolutely crushed it.

Here is how our season shook out:

Electrathon Team Dominates the Midwest

Our Electrathon crew had a spectacular season, hauling our fleet to test their efficiency and design at BTC (Blackhawk Technical College), Road America, and FVTC (Fox Valley Technical College).

The Trophy Haul: The team took home countless trophies across both Class 3 and Class 4 competitions!

Our New Heavy-Hitter: Our brand-new aluminum chassis car proved to be an absolute powerhouse, cementing its status as one of the best-engineered cars in the entire Midwest.

The Takeaways: Beyond the hardware, students gained invaluable, hands-on experience diving deep into aerodynamics, advanced electrical engineering, and maximizing battery efficiency.

Formula Student: Grit, Speed, and Trackside Engineering

The Formula Student cars made their way to Road America for a high-intensity run. While the track threw some challenges our way, the team showed true racer grit handling mechanical curveballs on both vehicles.

The Maroon Car: Hit some early mechanical gremlins and unfortunately only got one solid run in on the track—but the data gathered is already fueling next year's build.

The Silver Car: Showed serious speed! Before a mechanical issue took it out, the silver car managed to shave a massive 4 seconds off our best lap time from last year.

The Takeaways: True engineering happens when things don't go perfectly. The students walked away with an immense amount of knowledge regarding live troubleshooting, adjusting air/fuel ratios, and optimizing power-to-weight ratios.

To Our Community & Sponsors: THANK YOU!

None of this happens in a vacuum. Building competitive, high-performance vehicles requires immense resources, and we truly could not have done this without our incredible network of local and industry sponsors.

Our next sponsorship shout-out takes us a bit outside of Wisconsin to highlight a powerhouse of a partner that literally propelled our program to the next level this year: Bicycle Motor Works out of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania!

For over a decade, Bicycle Motor Works has been a trusted leader in designing and engineering high-performance, U.S.-built lithium-ion battery packs and custom electric vehicle conversion systems. They specialize in squeezing maximum energy, discharge stability, and reliability into custom builds—making them the absolute perfect fit for competitive engineering challenges.

This year, they stepped up to provide our team with an incredible battery setup for our latest Electrathon build. In Electrathon, efficient energy management is the name of the game, and the pack they provided delivered flawless, high-current performance on the track. Thanks to their top-tier engineering and support, our latest vehicle proved itself to be one of the absolute best in the Mid-West this season!

It is incredibly rewarding to partner with an American manufacturer that values technical innovation and invests directly in hands-on STEM education.

A massive thank you to Matt and the entire team at Bicycle Motor Works for fueling our team’s success and he helping us dominate the track this year!

Next up in our sponsorship spotlight is a fantastic business right down the street on Main Street in Jefferson: Fidelity Land Title!

Founded right here in our community all the way back in 1949, Fidelity Land Title has been helping our neighbors handle real estate transactions with confidence for generations. Whether someone is buying a first home, selling property, or managing a new build, their team ensures everything behind the scenes—from title searches to closing escrow—is completely accurate, documented, and secure.

In our Formula Student, Supermileage, and Electrathon programs, we constantly talk about the importance of building a strong foundation. Before a car ever hits the track, every measurement must be double-checked, every system must be thoroughly vetted, and every piece of documentation has to be in order. The precision and thoroughness that Fidelity Land Title brings to local real estate is exactly the kind of professional standard we try to instill in our students every day in the shop.

Their incredible support provides our Tech Ed department with the vital resources needed to maintain our fleet and covers the travel expenses required to get our students to competitions across the state.

Thank you to the team at Fidelity Land Title for keeping our community moving forward and for investing in the next generation of hands-on learners!

We're in need of some old appliances for a summer school class. Mr. Pilarski is running a class with 3rd-8th graders during summer school and one of the weeks involves tearing apart old appliances to see how they work. If you have any old appliances laying around, please feel free to drop them off at JHS. Please be reasonable with the size of them. No refrigerators, ovens, washers, dryers, etc. Coffee makers, toasters, small LED TVs/monitors, vacuums, laptops, tablets, mixers, blenders, and such would all be ok. We can't accept microwaves or tube style TVs due to safety and the components on the inside.

Some of our automotive seniors went to the - Firestone Challenge today and absolutely crushed it! Competing against 33 teams from 11 different schools, these guys proved that hard work and technical precision pay off.

The competition was a gauntlet of industry skills, including:

 Electrical Systems

 Suspension & Steering

 Ignition Systems

 Parts Identification

 Scan Tool Operation

The Results:

1st Place Overall: Ayden & Hunter (Champions!)

7th Place: Evan & Caesar

Crucial Finish: Logan & Brady (Their scores were the "clutch" points we needed for the overall win!)

Because of these six technicians, Jefferson took 1st Place overall in the school standings!

These seniors have spent years honing their craft in the shop, and seeing them represent Jefferson Tech Ed with such excellence is what it's all about. The future of the automotive industry is looking bright.
