JP Schools is sharing important information regarding new Louisiana laws that students and families should be aware of as we begin the 2026–2027 school year. We encourage all parents and guardians to review this information with their child and return the required acknowledgment form to their school. Your partnership plays an important role in maintaining safe, supportive learning environments for all students.

Act 619 of 2026 (School Threat Accountability and Safety Act) strengthens accountability for making threats against schools, school sponsored activities, and firearm free zones.

Act 782 of 2026 (Ivy Daniels Act) addresses the creation and sharing of certain AI generated images depicting real individuals in a sexual manner without their consent.
