The Jackson County Board of Education held its August meeting Monday night. The Board recognized Mr. Jason Shiver, the Custodial Supervisor, for his recent leadership award, the East Jackson High School Choral program leaders for their April win in Italy and the EJHS Talon Tech robotics team for its July win at a premier event in Carolina. The Board also heard a school spotlight presentation from East Jackson Elementary School and its afterschool club offerings.

The Board also approved the 2027-28 calendar, the FY27 Budget, the replacement of gutters and downspouts at Empower, and personnel during the Monday meeting.
