We are so incredibly proud of Mrs. Mays! This is such a special and well-deserved honor for a teacher who means so much to our PreK family. We are so fortunate to have her!

A WONDERFUL DAY FOR MRS. LEAH MAYS | We celebrated a very special announcement at our Center for Early Learning today: Leah Mays has been named the 2026–2027 Georgia Pre-K Teacher of the Year for public schools by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL)!

DECAL surprised Leah at school today with the announcement and a $3,000 check in recognition of this honor. She will also receive $4,500 to support her classroom and program.

Leah is a wonderful teacher, and our youngest learners are fortunate to have her guiding, encouraging and teaching them each day. We are proud to see her work recognized at the state level and grateful for all she brings to our PreK program.

Congratulations, Leah! We are so happy to celebrate you!

🌲After reading Natalia Romanova’s Once There Was a Tree, our students examined real tree bark, wood slices, pinecones, and more with Ms. French. 🍂 🪵Next, they brought the story to life using their imagination with trees and animal friends! 🐿️

Mrs. Raines & Mrs. Bunn’s class has been soaking up all things FALL! 🍎🍂 From our Apple Rotations and our fun hallway Apple Stand to enjoying this beautiful fall weather, we’ve had the sweetest time learning, playing, and making memories together! 🍎🍁

🌟In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Coach Cates guided our students through the rich rhythms and dances of Hispanic culture.🪇

Our students danced the Conga from Cuba, the Macarena from Spain, and the Mexican Hat Dance from Mexico. They also sang "Mi Cuerpo Hace Música" and played the maracas! It was a fun way to celebrate diversity, music, and movement together. ✨

Ms. Bagley’s class had an apple-tastic wonderful time learning all about apples! 🍎 We explored patterning, enjoyed an apple taste test and graphing activity, made apple necklaces, and so much more. But we think the very best part of our week was enjoying the beautiful fall weather and spending time outdoors! 🍂

🍏Seed to slice, our students are learning all about how apples grow from tiny seeds into big, delicious fruit. Big smiles everywhere as each student visited our hallway apple stand to pick out their very own special apple to take home! 🍎✨

Our little learners in Mrs. Garrison's class have been diving headfirst into all things apples! Here is a look at everything we’ve been up to:

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡: We tasted different apples and created a class picture graph of our favorites!

𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬: We practiced fine motor skills and AB patterns by stringing together Apple Jack cereal necklaces.

𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬: We put our senses to work comparing apple juice, applesauce, and apple pie. (Apple pie was a HUGE hit!)

𝐀𝐫𝐭 & 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌: We painted with real apple stamps and built our very own 3D apple trees.

𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 & 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜: We read cozy fall apple books and sang our new favorite apple songs every morning!

Mrs. Alyssa, Mrs. Kristy, and Mrs. Kaylie’s little learners strengthened their fine motor skills with hands-on apple activities, sampled a variety of yummy apple-flavored treats, and put their taste buds to the test with an apple taste test! We even used a little classroom ✨magic✨ to bake our very own apple pie! 🥧❤️
