Our students are celebrating their first MONTH of school this Friday, and things are about to get groovy! Everyone is invited to show off their colorful personalities by wearing the awesome Tie-Dye shirts they created!

Oh, the wonder of nature! 🌿👀👂

Our PreK explorers stepped outside today to discover the beauty of the world all around us! After a fantastic lesson from Ms. French on using our senses of sight and hearing, our little learners put their skills to the test to become true backyard explorers.

From listening to the chirping birds to spotting colorful flowers, their curious eyes and ears were working overtime! We love seeing the world through their eyes. 🔍✨❤️

🎨 Did you know? Every single day in Pre-K, our students dive into a full hour of Center Time fun!

While it looks like pure playtime to our little learners, those 60 minutes are actually packed with purposeful, hands-on learning. Guided by the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), learning centers promote active, play-based exploration.

Here is what is really happening while they play:

Building Cognitive Skills: Sorting shapes, counting blocks, and solving puzzles lay the foundation for early math and science.

Developing Social-Emotional Strength: Sharing toys, taking turns, and role-playing help friends build empathy and communication skills.

Refining Fine & Gross Motor Control: Cut-and-paste crafts, sensory bins, and building towers strengthen hands and bodies.

The best part? Students get the power of free choice. They think they are just having fun, but we know they are building the foundational skills they need for a lifetime of learning! 🍎✨

Leaders Training Leaders! 🌟

Today, early learning leaders from across the area gathered at the Jefferson City Schools Field House for DECAL Director Training! It was an inspiring day of collaboration, diving into exciting updates for the new school year, and sharing fresh strategies to bring learning to life for our littlest learners. 📚✨

A huge thank you to DECAL for delivering such valuable insights, and to Jefferson City Schools for opening your doors and hosting the event.

Jefferson City Schools has been ranked No. 4 among PK–12 public school districts in Georgia in the latest SchoolDigger rankings. JCS earned a 5-Star District Rating, placing the school system in the 98th percentile statewide. Our schools also ranked among the top schools in Georgia. ✨ Our preschoolers are off to a fantastic start to the school year! ✨

We’ve been having so much fun with our Pete the Cat unit while learning all about our classroom expectations. Through engaging stories, interactive games, communication boards, and hands-on sensory boxes, our students are building important routines, practicing communication, and learning what it means to be kind, safe, and ready to learn.

It’s been wonderful watching our little learners explore, play, and grow in confidence each day. We can’t wait for all the exciting learning adventures this year has in store! 💙📚👟

There is so much joy on the playground as our littlest learners climb, slide, and discover all the fun ways their amazing bodies can move. Best of all, they’re building sweet new friendships every step of the way. Watching them play, share big smiles, and cheer each other on is truly the best part of our day! 💕

🐾 Pete the Cat was on the loose at PreK today! 🐾

Our little detectives had an absolute blast following clues all around the building to hunt down Pete’s colored shoes! 🕵️‍♂️👟 Along the way, we explored new places, met friendly faces, and learned our way around the school.

It’s safe to say our PreK rockstars are stepping into the new school year in style! 😎✨
