Last week, AFJROTC students visited Ft Pulaski and were able to go on a dolphin educational tour. During the tour, dolphins started playing in the wake of their boat: what a cool experience! 🐬

Big news for our Jeffersonian yearbook staff! 📸✨
We’re thrilled to announce two major national honors for our yearbook program, led by advisor Dr. Michelle Golden:
Gold Level Yearbook Program of Excellence Award: This award recognizes top-tier achievement in three major areas:
Deadlines: Meeting every single project management deadline on time.
Coverage: Achieving 75% student coverage (featuring 3/4 of our student body at least 3 times, crushing the 50% benchmark!)
Sales: Hitting top-tier community engagement and distribution goals.
Featured in the “Look Book”: Our 2025 book was selected as a national model of yearbook excellence! We were highlighted for outstanding photo quality, strong dominant design elements, and clever graphics/lines on our division pages. This is our 3rd year in a row to be featured in the Look Book.
Earning Gold status was a major team goal last year, and our staff put in countless hours to make it happen. Huge shoutout to our incredible editors, photographers, and staff members for their dedication to capturing our school’s story! 🏆🎉

Friday Night Lights are back! Game 1 was tough- Dragons lost to Calhoun 19-21, but we are happy to see our players, band, cheerleaders, and supporters back out there doing what they love again. Next Friday is our first home game and we can’t wait to paint the town blue 💙 with support!

Pipe cleaners + 10 minutes = questionable works of art. 😂

Our yearbook staff put creativity and problem-solving skills to the test with a pipe-cleaner self-portrait challenge! The staff had just 10 minutes to work with what they had, meet a deadline, and somehow turn a handful of fuzzy sticks into a recognizable face. 😆

Let’s just say… it’s a very good thing our usual medium is photography. 📸😂

Mrs. Baird’s students were hard at work the first week of school on their summer reading projects! 📚✨ From exploring characterization, theme, imagery, and structure to creating interactive foldables and character-ranking systems, students showed off their analytical thinking and creativity. Great readers don’t just read the story—they dig deeper to discover what it really means! 💡📖

🇺🇸 A proud night for Jefferson High School’s AFJROTC program! Our cadets had the incredible opportunity to help display the American flag across the field at tonight’s pre-season Atlanta Falcons game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

AP Environmental Science made geology a little ✨sweeter✨ this week! Our students built 🍪 Oreo tectonic plate models to visualize how Earth’s plates move and interact. Who knew plate tectonics could be this delicious?
