Clean water challenge! 🧪💧

Last month, our Environmental Science students put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building custom water filters!

They competed to see whose design reigned supreme, judging each filter on two major criteria: filtration speed and water clarity (turbidity). High stakes, hands-on science in action! ⏱️✨

Math meets animal science (with a delicious twist)! 🌾🥣
Last month, our students stepped into the role of animal nutritionists to build a custom 16% "protein" feed using Pearson Squares—using Cheerios, M&Ms, and other snack items to make a human-friendly mock feed!
They calculated exact ingredient ratios for a 100 lb batch, figured out the cost per pound, designed custom feed labels, and "shopped" for their ingredients. To top it all off, they ate their creations to test feed palatability firsthand—proving that taste definitely matters! 😋🛒✨

Last Thursday, JHS AFJROTC participated in its third Wear Blue: Run to Remember event hosted by Post 56 American Legion.

Our cadets honored service members who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our country by running two miles in their memory. 🇺🇸

We are very proud of the 35 AFJROTC cadets who participated and took the time to remember, honor, and carry on the legacy of those who served.

Future educator and Teaching as a Profession student Madison Baird knocked her mini-lesson out of the park last week in Ms. Moak’s class! She put the "I Do, We Do, You Do" instructional framework into action by teaching the class the art and science of making slime.
From modeling the exact measurements to guiding group practice and letting classmates create their own batches, Madison proved that learning core teaching strategies can be hands-on, engaging, and a whole lot of fun!

JHS is thrilled to welcome our Scotland exchange partners to Jefferson! 🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Students from JHS and Hermitage Academy are spending the week exploring Georgia together, with adventures planned at Dahlonega, the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, and more!

Most importantly, our students are excited to reunite with the friends they made in Scotland this summer and create even more memories together.

This is such a valuable program that our school offers and we are so happy to offer this exchange trip every year.
