We have officially welcomed the Class of 2030 to the Carson-Newman family! 🦅

Following a longstanding tradition, our new students and their families were welcomed by our wonderful staff and faculty before experiencing the Prayer Walk ceremony. This serves as a powerful, visual reminder that our campus community is committed to praying for and supporting every student during their time at C-N.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” - Numbers 6:24-26

Move-In Day 2026 was a huge success! 🦅

The early rain couldn't slow us down! Big thank you to all of our students, staff, faculty and other volunteers for making the move-in process so easy for our new Eagles and their families! The C-N community is truly special!

Our prayers go out to those affected, their families and the entire Milligan community.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” — Psalm 34:18

We are profoundly shocked and saddened to share that members of our cycling team were in an accident involving a vehicle this morning while cycling in Hampton, TN. Sophomores Haylan Engdahl and Brayden Rogers were killed in this accident. Multiple other Milligan cyclists were also seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment at the Johnson City Medical Center. There are no words to adequately describe this level of loss. Our prayers are with all those impacted by this tragedy. Please keep the Milligan community in your prayers.

No better way to kickoff the new school year than with baptisms in Mossy Creek! 🙌

We had an incredible morning being able to witness 18 of our football athletes publicly profess Christ as their Lord and Savior and follow in believer’s baptism! We’re so thankful for God’s goodness and the moving of the Holy Spirit on our campus ahead of the new year!

Today we honored Julie Rabun as our 2026-27 Distinguished Faculty Award recipient! 👏

Rabun joined Carson-Newman’s Art Department faculty in fall of 2002 and served as chair for more than a decade. As Professor of Art, she has been credited for being an inspiring teacher in the classroom and a tireless mentor for her students.

She used her talents to help with C-N’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) on service-learning, creating a service-learning course in the graphic design program, which paired art students with non-profit organizations in need of professional design work. This and other efforts led her to be honored with a Twin Pillars Award for Service-Learning. Over the years, she has directed or served as a reader on multiple honors projects, helped design C-N’s annual student and faculty literary journal, “Ampersand,” established the Mac computer lab and played an integral role in creating the Michael Alvis Gallery and the Julie Rabun Student Gallery located in the Warren Art Building.
