This year marks another exciting chapter in our GRIT & GRACE journey at St. Martin School. Last year, we laid a strong foundation by helping our students develop perseverance, responsibility, kindness, and Christ-like character. We witnessed students encouraging one another, celebrating successes, learning from setbacks, and growing in virtue. Rather than introducing a new initiative each year, we believe lasting change comes through consistency. Character is not built in a single school year—it is developed through intentional practice, shared expectations, and a community committed to living the same values every day.
As we continue strengthening our GRIT & GRACE culture, one area of emphasis this year will be "See Something, Say Something." We want every student to understand that caring for one another means having the courage to speak up when something doesn't seem right. Whether a classmate is being left out, someone is struggling emotionally, a student witnesses bullying, or they become aware of a potential safety concern, we want our students to know they are never alone and that trusted adults are here to help.
"See Something, Say Something" is a natural extension of GRIT & GRACE. It takes grit to have the courage to do the right thing, even when it is difficult, and it takes grace to care enough about others to act with compassion and kindness. By teaching students to recognize concerns, speak with trusted adults, and look out for one another, we are creating a school culture where every child feels safe, respected, and valued.
We invite our families to partner with us in reinforcing these same values at home. When school and family work together, children receive a consistent message that courage, kindness, responsibility, and faith are not just school expectations—they are lifelong virtues rooted in the Gospel. Together, we can continue building a community where every student knows they belong, every voice matters, and everyone is committed to helping one another grow closer to Christ.
