In case you missed it, the Biofuels: Science and Sustainability Tour stopped at the Iowa State Capitol for a look at the growing connection between American agriculture and aviation.

Kent Hartwig, director of state government affairs for Gevo, spoke with more than 40 congressional staffers about the developing industry and the opportunity to turn renewable ethanol made from American corn into drop-in aviation fuel. Expanding SAF production can create new demand for agricultural commodities while providing aviation with an important pathway to reduce lifecycle emissions.

The Clean Fuels Alliance Foundation was proud to sponsor the 17th annual tour, hosted by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association.

In case you missed it, the 17th annual Biofuels: Science and Sustainability Tour brought more than 40 congressional staffers to the Kimberley family farm near Maxwell, Iowa, for a firsthand look at where clean fuels begin.

Grant and Rick Kimberley shared how their multigenerational family farm grows corn and soybeans while putting to work in its own machinery. The stop offered a full-circle example of how homegrown clean fuels create markets for American crops, support rural communities and provide lower-carbon solutions that are available today.

The Clean Fuels Alliance Foundation was proud to sponsor the tour, hosted by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association.

Clean Fuels Alliance America’s Paul Winters spoke with 40 congressional staffers participating in the IRFA Science and Sustainability Tour at Chevron’s plant in Newton, Iowa.

The stop offered staff an up-close look at biodiesel production and an opportunity to learn more about the role play in America’s energy and agricultural economy.

The opportunity for clean fuels extends from the road to the runway.

A new Airbus and ICF study estimates that developing a Canadian sustainable aviation fuel market capable of meeting 40% of the country’s aviation fuel demand by 2040 could contribute $32 billion to Canada’s GDP and support 140,000 jobs.

SAF can be produced from renewable feedstocks also familiar to the biodiesel and renewable diesel industries, including fats, oils and used cooking oil. Expanding this market could strengthen the broader clean-fuels value chain while supporting energy security, economic growth and lower lifecycle emissions from aviation.

Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) could become a major driver of Canada's industrial and economic growth, according to a macroeconomic study conducted by Air

Stronger crops can help build a stronger future for biodiesel.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is inviting universities and other partners to develop artificial intelligence tools that bring together germplasm data, images, field observations and laboratory results. Although the initiative applies broadly across agriculture, these tools could help researchers develop more productive and resilient oilseed crops that supply feedstocks for biodiesel production.

Accelerating crop innovation can strengthen American agriculture, expand domestic feedstock supplies and support continued growth across the biodiesel value chain.

The USDA is taking steps to speed up progress in plant science by calling on universities and stakeholders to help build new AI tools that can translate th

Clean Fuels Alliance America is intervening to defend the success of the 2026–2027 rule against legal challenges that could destabilize an essential domestic market.

EPA’s biomass-based diesel volumes are already supporting stronger demand for U.S. agricultural feedstocks, new investments and increased production of and .

A strong and stable RFS helps create opportunities for American farmers, strengthens rural economies and provides the additional domestic fuel supply needed to keep goods moving and prices affordable.

Clean Fuels Alliance America thanks USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins for finalizing the Production of Regenerative Agricultural Biofuel Feedstocks rule and releasing an updated Feedstock Carbon Intensity Calculator.

These resources provide farmers with practical guidance for implementing regenerative agricultural practices and calculating the added value of feedstocks supplied to domestic , and producers.

The final rule represents an important step toward strengthening markets for American farmers and expanding the domestic clean fuels industry.

FD-CIC final rule is a first step in enabling farmers to expand benefits from growing domestic biofuel market.

The updated 45ZCF-GREET model is now available.

Released by the U.S. Department of Energy and Argonne National Laboratory, the model provides updated guidance for calculating the Section 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit during the 2026 tax year.

This important update gives clean fuel producers greater certainty as they evaluate carbon intensity scores and available tax credits.

GREET model publication enables U.S. fuel producers to get full value from the Clean Fuel Production Credit in current tax year.
