We offer home-based Early Head Start with child/family services in your home at no cost; and preschool Head Start for children ages 3-5 Tuesday/Wednesday and Thursday/Friday. Good morning from the EHS Room! Yesterday was filled with sunshine and discovery as we took the time to enjoy the beautiful weather! The children enjoyed gluing together their own flowers, picking dandelions and other natural objects to see if they sink or float in our mud kitchen, riding bikes and jumping in muddy puddles (that we created after our sink or float adventure 😉...) among other outside fun!

Our preschool school year is almost over, and we are soaking up every last moment together! We’ve been busy making core memories, building friendships, and learning so many new skills — which explains our little pause in posting lately 😉

Part Two: We learned all about the weather recently and our teachers provided some fun fine motor activities for the children to enjoy. We watched it "rain" in a jar, used tweezers to pick up "bird food" (pipe cleaners) and feed them to our birds (paper towels rolls), painting with straws to simulate wind, making cloud dough, using droppers to paint a rain painting and practicing writing our names! And of course some time outside to enjoy the beautiful spring weather!

The Early Room has been busy enjoying spring and learning about our surroundings. We have enjoyed using our creativity and gross motor skills outside and practicing fine motor skills with fun activities! They also enjoyed making bird feeders for our bird friends and hanging them around our playground. We have enjoyed watching the birds eat off them from our classroom window. Enjoy part one photos! We’re so excited to launch our Bumps & Babies Support Group right here in Franklin County! 💛

Join us for our kick-off event:

⏰ 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 WMCA WIC Office, 166 Main St., Farmington

This monthly group is a welcoming space for pregnant and postpartum moms to connect, share experiences, and learn together. Each session will feature a new topic—like lactation support, infant CPR, and more!

🤝 Open to all diaper program participants (and feel free to share!)
