Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do

Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do Instruction of the Korean Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do. Instruction for self defense. The school was started by Master Stan Keepes and Master Dave Duncan.

The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do is under the guidance of Grand Master Young Sik Choi, 9th Degree Black Belt. The school has been running since 1993 in Jasper, currently at Crossfit Discipline gym on Wernsing Rd. The school is currently operated by Master Ed Messmer, 5th degree Black Belt. Instructors at the school include Master Stan Keepes, 7th degree Black Belt, Master Marc Campbell, 7th degree

Black Belt, Master David Duncan, 7th degree Black Belt, Master Lewis Montgomery, 6th degree Black Belt, and Master Ed Messmer, 5th Degree Black Belt. The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do specializes in the training of this traditional martial art. While we use this training for self defense, it is also a great form of exercise as we work to condition the whole body. We also reinforce commitment and discipline in the practice of Tae Kwon Do. The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do is a great place for both kids and adults to work out and learn about the art of self defense and discipline. Students range in age from 5 to "senior" adults.

We had students participate in the 82nd TTCA Tae Kwon Do tournament in Central City, Ky recently.

-Cody Buechler received 1st in Forms and 2nd in sparring in Women’s Yellow Belt Junior Division.
-Grant Blackman received 2nd in Forms and 2nd in sparring in Youth Green Belt Division.
-Jayme Buechler received 3rd in Forms and 2nd in Sparring in Women’s Purple/Brown Adult Division.

We recently completed color belt rank advancement testing at the school. Students were tested in cardio/physical fitness, forms demonstration after cardio, sparring, board breaking, a written test and a verbal test. The following students completed the testing requirements:

-Yellow Belt: Cody Buechler, Kolton Meredith, and Jason Meredith
-Green Belt: Sara Gress, Victoria Friz, Elena Friz, and Alegra Friz
-Green w Stripe Belt: Joel Hanselman, Andreous Friz and Grant Blackman
-Purple Belt: Jayme Buechler, Aiden Friz, Adolph Friz, Ambrose Friz, and Augustine Friz
