F-Eight Baseball/Softball Teaching the physical and mental fundamentals of hitting.

The goal is to hit it out front but if you can’t let it get deep you’re cooked.

Drew likes the feel of the Shohei load. I’d say he’s about 75% efficient with it but not bad for 8 years old. We will always be working on putting weight on to add strength. I tell him his pro comp right now is Trey Turner. Hit for average, be nasty with the glove, and throw gas. When the time comes where he truly understands nutrition and the weight room the rest will come.

At this age his baseball IQ is high. Mainly from playing a lot of MLB the show and baseball YouTube. A pilot doesn’t step in the cockpit without video game simulation of flying. The same with nascar drivers.

So get your kids playing some MLB the show and watching some baseball bat bros on YouTube if you want to peak their interest of the game.

I will be out of town October 8–13.

If you normally have a lesson or training session during those dates, please schedule accordingly. I’ll be back and resume lessons on October 14.

If you need to get a session in before I leave, reach out and we’ll find a time.

Thank you!

New bat vibes for Ezra Hutto

Starting the day off hot with two HRs

The kinetic chain synched up. Very high level moves. Doesn’t mean you have to hit like this but when you can. It’s hot.

Working on high level moves with light weight. Nowhere close to where it’s supposed to be but we will keep working on it. There’s so much timing and synchronization to this style of swing that we only work on it in the cage. This doesn’t show up to games. Maybe one day.

You have to have strong wrist to learn how to snap a bat head deep. Or tilt the barrel, snap it, turn it.

I’ve got a list of swings I need to show some before and afters on.

Gage comes to hit every week even finding time during football season. Sometimes tired and banged up from grinding in the trenches. We always find a way to get better. I’m proud of where we’re at after 5 months of work.

There’s levels to this. Off-season is the time to break the swing down and find what works for you and what doesn’t work. We started at the end of school ball. Changed some things and got summer at bats to get live pitching to know what to work on in the fall. The cage tells one story. Live at bats tell the other.

Some days guys leave feeling bad about their swing and give up on the grind but if you consistently show up… the good days replace the bad in the end.
