Our very own Ashley Reed represented our county and school this summer. She applied and was accepted to participate in the ACAP Alternate Assessment Educator Committee. We are super proud of her hard work and dedication.

Walker County Schools featured in Tech and Learning Magazine.

A school district in Alabama is one of many to limit device access during school time. The results have been positive, says Dennis R. Willingham, though students still need device access.

Download the new app. Once you have it on your device you can use your email that is listed under your student in PowerSchool (contacts) click forgot password. It will send you a link to establish a password. Once you are in your child’s teacher will send you a QR code to join their chat. This will take the place of Remind.

We had a great start to the new year with our annual Walker Count Schools Institute. Mr. Marcum from the state department provided some inspiring words of wisdom. We are so grateful to Jasper’s First Baptist for providing their facilities so that all WCS employees could be together.
Pastor Frazier and his staff/volunteers were so kind and accommodating. We appreciate them so much!

Ms. Humphries worked with University of Alabama Engineers conducting research and experiments with sensors over the course of seven weeks during the summer. She represented Walker County Schools and Parrish Middle School in a Research Poster Symposium to share her research findings. Ms. Humphries was awarded $2000 to purchase items for her classroom.
