Executive Order 26-01 gives every public district and building an A-F grade each year. The State Board approved the framework on September 15, 2026, which is the same day they voted not to fully fund the formula.

Schools have not yet received technical guidance about how the scores are calculated, but this is what is currently understood:

A-F grades are calculated differently for different types of schools.

🖍️ Elementary grades are based entirely on a single test score from a single day calculated 3 different ways, totaling 84 points
🧪 High school grades are based on a single test score calculated 2 different ways plus other measures, totaling 96 points
🏫 District scores are not an average of their schools but are yet another separate calculation, totaling varied points

Executive Order 26-01 gives every public district and building an A-F grade each year. The State Board approved the framework on September 15, 2026.

Jasper will receive three grades from DESE this year:

1️⃣ A-F Report Card in October/November (2025 data)
2️⃣ APR in December/January (2026 data)
3️⃣ A-F Report Card sometime in the spring (2026 data)

It is possible all of those grades could be different, which is confusing. We will begin a series of social media posts designed to help us understand what the A-F grades include, what they do not include, and how they are calculated.
