This Wednesday and Thursday, our seniors will have the opportunity to take the ACT WorkKeys assessment, an important step in preparing for life after high school!
At Jasper High School, our goal is to ensure that every student graduates prepared for success, whether that means attending college, entering the workforce, completing technical training, or pursuing a career in a skilled trade. ACT WorkKeys is an important part of that preparation!
💼 WHY DOES ACT WORKKEYS MATTER?
✅ Career Readiness: ACT WorkKeys measures essential workplace skills, including applied math, workplace documents, and graphic literacy. These are skills employers value across a wide range of industries.
✅ National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC): Students can earn a credential based on their WorkKeys scores that demonstrates their workplace skills to potential employers. This credential can help students communicate their abilities when applying for jobs.
✅ CCR&I OPPORTUNITIES: College and Career Readiness Indicators (CCRIs) recognize students who demonstrate readiness for life after graduation. Depending on the applicable state requirements, earning a qualifying ACT WorkKeys credential may help students meet a graduation readiness indicator and document their preparation for the workforce.
✅ WORKFORCE OPPORTUNITIES: Many employers value industry-recognized credentials and evidence of foundational workplace skills. A WorkKeys credential can strengthen a student’s résumé and help demonstrate readiness for employment, apprenticeships, and career training opportunities.
