🌟 WEEKLY EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: ANGIE CASH 🌟
This week, we want to shine a very special spotlight on our HR Manager, Angie Cash! ❤️💙💚

Angie has been part of the Sequatchie Valley Head Start family for almost 5 years, reaching that incredible milestone in December! 🎉👏

For nearly five years, Angie has worked hard behind the scenes and every day to help keep our agency safe, compliant, and running smoothly. From handling the many responsibilities that come with HR to making sure our employees are supported and taken care of, Angie gives so much of herself to the people around her. ❤️

But Angie’s story is about so much more than her job title.

Angie has walked through some incredibly difficult seasons in her life. In 2022, she experienced the heartbreaking loss of her son, Tres, at just 26 years old. Anyone who knew Tres knew how special he was. Angie will tell you that when Tres walked into a room, he could light it up with his smile. ❤️

While no amount of time can take away that loss, Angie continues to carry his memory and love with her. Her faith has been a source of strength for her through some of her hardest days, and she continues to move forward with an incredible amount of love, compassion, and perseverance.

And if you know Angie, you know she is always doing something! 😂❤️

🐾 She loves spending time with her other baby, Cruz, her sweet Pit Bull! 🐶

🍯 She makes honey! 🐝

👕 She makes shirts, decals, and just about anything you can think of! If you can dream it up, Angie can probably figure out how to make it! 😂

❤️ Even more special, Angie donates the proceeds from her creations to the Never Use Alone line, helping support a cause that is important to her.

🎨 She loves crafting and creating new things.

📚 She loves to read.

🏈 And she is a proud Vols fan! 🧡🤍

🙏 Most importantly, Angie’s faith keeps her going, especially on the hardest days.

Angie, as you approach 5 years with Sequatchie Valley Head Start, we want you to know how much you are appreciated. Thank you for the countless things you do to protect our agency, support our employees, and make sure people are taken care of. So much of what you do may happen behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our entire agency. ❤️

Thank you for showing up, working hard, caring deeply, and continuing to move forward even through the difficult seasons life has brought your way.

What’s Happening at Tracy City Head Start!

We’ve had a busy and fun month! Our classrooms have been enjoying projects like our Pete the Cat Project and “How Many Apples Long Are You?”

We also celebrated Grandparents’ Day, where grandparents joined us for a fun Dr. Yum apple recipe and special time with their grandchildren! ❤️

A BIG thank you to our parent volunteers Kathy, Stephanie, Gina, Jacquelyn, Misty, Pamela, Brandy, and Melissa for reading books, dancing with the children, and helping prepare our Dr. Yum activities! Your help means so much to our teachers and children! 🥰

🍏 Apple tasting fun in Whitwell Class A! 🍎

Our Dr. Yum theme of the month is Apples, so we got hands-on with a delicious little taste test! The kids used kid-safe knives to cut their own red and green apples, then gave each one a try to see which they liked best.

A little learning, a little independence, and a whole lot of crunchy fun! ❤️

🌟 WEEKLY EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: JUANITA HALL 🌟

This week, we are incredibly excited to shine the spotlight on someone whose Head Start story is truly special — our amazing Education Manager, Juanita Hall! ❤️💙💚

Juanita has been a part of the Sequatchie Valley Head Start family for an incredible 23 YEARS! 🎉👏 WOW! What an amazing milestone!

But Juanita’s Head Start journey actually began long before she became an employee. She was once a Head Start parent herself! ❤️

During her time as a Head Start parent, Juanita was encouraged by her Family Service Worker, Joyce Caldwell, to pursue a college education. That encouragement helped set Juanita on a path that would eventually lead her right back to Head Start — this time as an employee!

In 2003, Juanita was hired as a Teacher Assistant. At the time, she already had her Associate’s Degree, but she didn’t stop there! 🎓 She continued to grow professionally and pursue her education throughout her career. Today, Juanita holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership! 👏🎓✨

From a Head Start parent… to a Teacher Assistant… to becoming our Education Manager — Juanita’s journey is one we are proud to celebrate! ❤️

And if you know Juanita, you know she is a great leader. She brings experience, knowledge, dedication, and a genuine love for children to everything she does. We are so thankful for the leadership and heart she brings to our agency every day!

Now for some fun facts about Juanita! 👇🥰

👧🧒 She absolutely LOVES children and animals!

👦👦 Her two grandboys have a very special place in her heart! She spends a great deal of her free time with them, and together they love doing STEM activities! 🔬🧪🚀

📚 Juanita loves to read.

🧶 She enjoys crocheting and bead work.

🌷🌱 She loves gardening, growing both vegetables and flowers!

👩‍🍳 And she loves to cook and bake — we're sure her family doesn't complain about that hobby! 😋🍪🥧

🐶 Juanita also has two beloved fur babies: Chia, an 18-year-old Staffordshire, and Nova, a 3-year-old Staffordshire. ❤️🐾

Juanita, 23 YEARS! 🎉 What an incredible journey it has been. From being a Head Start parent to becoming one of the leaders of our program, your story is a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact Head Start can have on families and communities.

Thank you for your 23 years of dedication, leadership, growth, and love for children. Thank you for continuing to learn, grow, and pour your knowledge into the next generation of educators and the children we serve. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our SVHS family! ❤️

We had tons of fun today at Pikeville Head Start/Early Head Start!! We had Dolly Day along with Emergency Service Personnel Day!

We dressed in our pink, cowboy/cowgirl boots, dolly attire , and western! We also got a special visit from Pikeville Fire Department, Pikeville City Police , Bledsoe EMS and Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department! We appreciate each and every one of them for coming to see and talk to the kids! Mr. David Decker (Pikeville City Police) read “Police Officers on Patrol” from Imagination Library - Dolly Parton, to our HS-A classroom. Bledsoe EMS and Bledsoe Sheriff’s Department enjoyed a delicious meal with the kids as well!

What a fun filled day it has been!!! ❤️💙

This week, we are shining the spotlight on someone who does SO much behind the scenes to help keep Sequatchie Valley Head Start running smoothly — our amazing Executive Assistant & Professional Development Specialist, Tanya Knox! ❤️💙💚

Tanya has been part of the SVHS family for 2 wonderful years! 🎉👏 While a lot of the work Tanya does may happen behind the scenes, her impact is felt throughout our Main Office AND in our centers! From helping keep the office organized and moving forward to supporting our staff and helping make sure things run smoothly, Tanya is always working hard to keep things going. 💻📋❤️

Tanya is one of those people who is always willing to jump in, help wherever she is needed, and get the job done. Her dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she brings to our agency! 🌟

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family is EVERYTHING to Tanya! She is a wife and mom to 5 children, and she loves spending time with her family and making memories together. ❤️

🐶 Her family recently grew by four paws with the addition of a sweet new pup! 🐾💕

🛍️ She loves shopping! 🛒🛍️

⛪ Her faith is a huge part of her life. Tanya is active in her church, and her faith gives her strength and keeps her going through all that life brings. 🙏❤️

🏡 Tanya and her husband have also opened their hearts and home to foster children, showing just how deeply they care for children and families.

❤️ To know Tanya is to know what a great mom, wife, and worker she is. She pours her heart into the people she loves and into the work she does every day.

Thank you for all the things you do that people may not always see — the organizing, the helping, the problem-solving, the supporting, and all the little things that help keep our agency moving forward. Carrie has been part of the Sequatchie Valley Head Start family for 5 AMAZING years! 🎉👏 And if you’ve spent any time around her classroom, you know just how great she is with our kiddos! 🥰 She does an excellent job in the classroom and brings so much care, patience, and dedication to the children she works with each day. We are so thankful to have her on our Dayton team! ❤️

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family is a big part of Carrie's heart! She loves spending time with her family and making memories together.

✈️ She loves to travel and explore new places!

🐐🐝🐶🐱 Carrie and her family have their very own mini farm! And it sounds like they stay busy! Their crew includes goats, honey bees, dogs, and cats! 🐐🍯🐾

🌱 Carrie also enjoys gardening and growing tropical plants — so we're guessing she has quite the green thumb! 🌴🌿🌺

🙏 Her faith is also very important to her, and it is a meaningful part of who she is.
