Fridays just got a little sweeter! 🍎🍪 Mr. Parker, our CIS Coordinator, rolled out his new Friday Snack Cart today and surprised students during all lunches with free snacks!

CIS works to support our students by helping meet needs, building connections, and making sure they have the resources and encouragement they need to thrive. We’re so thankful for Mr. Parker and the positive impact he’s making at JRMS! 💙🐾

📖 Building Meaning Through Evidence | Mrs. Hill’s Class

In Mrs. Hill’s class, students are learning that strong readers don’t just read the words on the page, they use evidence from the text to develop understanding.

Students worked to identify and analyze key details, use those details to make inferences, and determine how the author’s details contribute to the overall meaning of the text.

This kind of thinking moves students beyond simply understanding what a text says and challenges them to explain how they know and why it matters. 🧠📚

📚✨ Expressions, Equations & a Little Algebra Magic! ✨📚

Today in Ms. Watson’s 6th grade math class, our Cougars were putting their problem-solving skills to work! 🧠✏️

Students were exploring TEK 6.7A-D by writing equivalent mathematical expressions in different ways using PEMDAS, exponents, and prime factorization—all while building those important algebra skills step by step. 💪➗

We love seeing our students thinking, collaborating, and working through the “why” behind the math! 🐾💙

Good afternoon, JRMS Families!

What an amazing first three days! Our students have jumped right in, and we are already seeing them meet, and in many cases, exceed our expectations. We could not be more excited about the year ahead!

One of the things we are especially excited about is our focus on mastery learning. Our goal is not simply for students to complete an assignment and move on. We want them to truly understand what they are learning, build confidence, and have opportunities to grow until they reach mastery. Middle school is a time for students to discover what they are capable of, and we are excited to partner with you as they take on new challenges and celebrate their progress along the way.

We will send out our weekly newsletter each Monday so that families know what is coming up, what students are learning, and how you can stay connected to all the exciting things happening at JRMS.

Thank you for sharing your students with us. We are off to a fantastic start, and we cannot wait to see where this year takes us!

✨ It was a great first day back at The Ranch yesterday! The halls were full, classrooms were buzzing, and our hearts are happy to have our students back on campus. We missed our Cougars so much and are excited for another incredible year of learning, growing, and making memories together.

This morning, students were already connecting with friends, collaborating, and getting ready for another great day of learning before the first bell even rang. From teamwork in the classroom to conversations in the cafeteria, the energy at JRMS is something special.

🐎💙 JRMS HAS THE SPIRIT STICK!! 💙🐎

What a way to kick off the 2026–2027 school year! Today, Jarrell Ranch Middle School showed up, showed out, and brought the ROAR to JISD Convocation, and WE WON THE SPIRIT STICK!! 🏆🎉

We are beyond excited and so proud of our Ranch family! The energy, school spirit, and pride our staff brought today were unmatched. We may be leaving Convocation with the Spirit Stick, but we’re taking that same energy with us into this school year!

And now… we’re gonna “riiiiiide til we can’t no more!” 🤠🐎💙

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible JISD District Administration and School Board for putting together such an awesome Convocation and creating an opportunity for our entire district to come together as ONE JISD. Events like today remind us how special it is to be part of a growing district filled with passionate educators, staff, students, and families.

We are SO excited for the year ahead and all the growth happening across JISD! The future is bright, and we’re ready to make it one heck of a year at the Ranch! 🤠💙
